This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your DENON D-MA3 MD/CD System Component. The D-MA3 is a versatile audio system designed to provide high-quality playback from various sources, including CD, MD, FM/AM radio, Bluetooth-connected devices, and USB storage.
2. Safety Information
- Power Supply: Connect the unit only to an AC outlet of the voltage specified on the unit.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate space around the unit for proper ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture to prevent fire or electric shock.
- Foreign Objects: Do not insert any foreign objects into the unit's openings.

4. Setup
4.1. Speaker Connection
Connect the supplied speaker cables from the speaker output terminals on the rear of the D-MA3 unit to the corresponding input terminals on your speakers. Ensure that the positive (+) terminal on the unit connects to the positive (+) terminal on the speaker, and the negative (-) terminal on the unit connects to the negative (-) terminal on the speaker. Incorrect polarity can affect sound quality.
4.2. Antenna Connection
For optimal radio reception, connect the supplied AM loop antenna and FM antenna to their respective terminals on the rear panel of the D-MA3. Position the antennas away from other electronic devices to minimize interference.
4.3. Power Connection
After all other connections (speakers, antennas, external devices) have been made, plug the power cord of the D-MA3 into a suitable AC wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off
Press the POWER button on the front panel of the unit or on the remote control to turn the unit on or off.
5.2. Source Selection
Press the FUNCTION button on the unit or the remote control repeatedly to cycle through and select the desired input source: CD, MD, TUNER (FM/AM), Bluetooth, or USB.
5.3. CD Playback
- Select the CD function.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up in the tray.
- Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the tray.
- Press the PLAY button to start playback.
- Use the SKIP buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to navigate between tracks.
- Press PAUSE to temporarily stop playback and PLAY to resume.
5.4. MD Playback and Recording
- Select the MD function.
- Insert a MiniDisc (MD) into the MD slot.
- Press the PLAY button to start playback.
- To record, select the desired input source (e.g., CD, Tuner). Press the REC button to begin recording onto the MD. Ensure the MD is not write-protected.
5.5. Tuner Operation (FM/AM Radio)
- Select the TUNER function.
- Press the BAND button to switch between FM and AM bands.
- Use the TUNING buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to manually tune to a station. Press and hold for automatic scanning.
- To store a station as a preset, tune to the desired station, then press the MEMORY button, and select a preset number using the number buttons or tuning buttons, then press MEMORY again to confirm.
5.6. Bluetooth Connection
- Select the Bluetooth function on the D-MA3. The unit will enter pairing mode.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select 'DENON D-MA3' from the list of found devices to establish a connection.
- Once paired, you can play audio from your device through the D-MA3.
5.7. USB Playback
- Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 or WMA audio files into the USB port on the front panel.
- Select the USB function.
- The unit will automatically detect and begin playback of compatible audio files.
- Use the playback controls (PLAY, PAUSE, SKIP) as you would for CD playback.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
- Disc Care: Handle CDs and MDs by their edges. Keep them clean and free of scratches.
- Ventilation: Regularly check that the ventilation openings are not obstructed by dust or debris.
- Power Cord: When unplugging the unit, always grasp the plug, not the cord.
7. Troubleshooting
