Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the proper setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Taylor Digital Body Weight Scale, Model 741341033W. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure accurate readings and prolong the life of your scale.
Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the scale from its packaging. Inspect for any damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Battery Installation
Your scale requires 2 AAA batteries (included). Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale. Open the cover, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-), and close the cover securely.

3. Placement
For accurate readings, place the scale on a hard, flat surface. Avoid carpets or uneven flooring, as these can affect accuracy.
4. Unit Selection
On the underside of the scale, locate the unit switch. Toggle this switch to select your preferred unit of measurement: pounds (lb), kilograms (kg), or stones (st).
Operation
1. Initializing the Scale
If the scale has been moved or if you are using it for the first time, it is recommended to initialize it. Step onto the scale briefly, then step off. The display will show '0.0' or a similar reading and then turn off. The scale is now ready for use.
2. Taking a Measurement
- Gently step onto the scale with bare feet, centering your weight. The scale will automatically turn on.
- Stand still until your weight is displayed and stabilizes. The 2.3-inch blue backlit AccuGlo LCD display provides clear visibility.
- Step off the scale. The weight will remain displayed for a few seconds before the scale automatically turns off to conserve battery life.

2. Storage
Store the scale in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing it vertically or with heavy objects on top, as this may affect its accuracy over time.
3. Battery Care
If the scale is not to be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage. Replace batteries when the 'LO' indicator appears on the display.
