2. Important Safety Information
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, always follow these basic safety precautions.
- Read all instructions before using the appliance.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.

4. Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the toaster oven and all accessories from the packaging. Remove any packing materials, stickers, or labels.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the oven with a damp cloth. Wash the baking rack and baking tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- Placement: Place the toaster oven on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is at least 4 inches (10 cm) of clearance on all sides and above the oven for proper ventilation. Do not place it near flammable materials.
- Power Connection: Ensure the power cord is not damaged. Plug the oven into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
- Initial Burn-Off: Before first use with food, operate the oven empty for approximately 15 minutes at the highest temperature setting (450°F) on the "Bake" function. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and odors. A slight odor or smoke is normal during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
5. Operating Instructions
The Toastmaster TM-102TR offers three primary cooking functions: Toast, Bake, and Broil.
5.1. Using the Temperature/Function Control Knob

- Toast: For toasting bread, bagels, or frozen waffles. The temperature is fixed for optimal toasting.
- Bake: For baking items like cookies, casseroles, or reheating leftovers. Turn the knob to select the desired temperature from 150°F to 450°F.
- Broil: For broiling meats, fish, or browning the top of dishes. The temperature is fixed at a high setting for broiling.
5.2. Using the Timer Control Knob

- Turn the knob clockwise to set the desired cooking time, up to 30 minutes. The oven will automatically turn off and a bell will sound when the time expires.
- For continuous operation, turn the knob counter-clockwise past the "OFF" position to "STAY ON". The oven will remain on until manually turned off.
- When toasting, the timer knob also controls the shade of toast (Light, Medium, Dark).
5.3. Cooking Functions
Toasting
- Place food (e.g., bread slices) directly on the baking rack. The oven accommodates up to 4 slices of bread.
- Close the glass door.
- Turn the Temperature/Function knob to "TOAST".
- Turn the Timer knob clockwise to the desired toast shade (Light, Medium, Dark). The power indicator light will illuminate.
- When toasting is complete, the timer will ding and the oven will turn off.
Baking
- Place food on the baking tray, then place the tray on the baking rack. The oven can accommodate up to a 9-inch pizza.
- Close the glass door.
- Turn the Temperature/Function knob to the desired baking temperature (e.g., 350°F).
- Turn the Timer knob clockwise to the desired baking time, or to "STAY ON" for longer baking. The power indicator light will illuminate.
- Monitor food closely, especially towards the end of the cooking cycle.
- When baking is complete, turn the Timer knob to "OFF" if using "STAY ON", or wait for the timer to ding.

Broiling
- Place food on the baking tray. For best results, position the baking rack in the upper rack location.
- Close the glass door.
- Turn the Temperature/Function knob to "BROIL".
- Turn the Timer knob clockwise to the desired broiling time, or to "STAY ON". The power indicator light will illuminate.
- Broiling is a fast cooking method; monitor food constantly to prevent burning.
- When broiling is complete, turn the Timer knob to "OFF" if using "STAY ON", or wait for the timer to ding.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning will help maintain the performance and appearance of your toaster oven.
- Always unplug the oven from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Crumb Tray: Slide out the crumb tray from the bottom of the oven. Discard crumbs. Wipe the tray with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Reinsert the crumb tray.
- Baking Rack and Tray: Wash the baking rack and baking tray in warm, soapy water. For stubborn food residue, soak them before washing. Rinse and dry thoroughly. These parts are not dishwasher safe.
- Interior: Wipe the interior walls of the oven with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they can damage the non-stick coating (if applicable) or heating elements.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishes.
- Glass Door: Clean the glass door with a glass cleaner or a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
- Storage: When not in use, ensure the oven is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place.
