1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your CK Worldwide CK26-25-RSF FX Air Cooled TIG Torch Kit. This kit includes a 200A capacity TIG torch with a 25-foot Super-Flex cable and a flexible head, designed for various welding applications. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the equipment.
2. Safety Information
Welding operations involve inherent risks. Adherence to safety guidelines is crucial to prevent injury and equipment damage.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, including a welding helmet with proper shade, flame-resistant clothing, welding gloves, and safety glasses.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area to remove welding fumes and gases.
- Electrical Safety: Always ensure your welding power source is properly grounded. Do not operate equipment with damaged cables or connections.
- Fire Prevention: Keep flammable materials away from the welding area. Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
- Hot Surfaces: The torch and workpiece will become extremely hot during and after welding. Allow components to cool before handling.
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
3. Setup
Proper setup ensures optimal performance and safety.
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
- Connections: Connect the torch cable to your TIG welding power source. The torch features Fail-Safe hose fittings, which do not require wire ties for secure connections.
- Consumables Installation: Install the appropriate tungsten electrode, collet, collet body, and ceramic nozzle (gas lens if applicable) for your welding application. Ensure all consumables are seated correctly and tightened securely.
- Gas Supply: Connect the shielding gas hose from the torch to your gas regulator and cylinder. Ensure the gas flow rate is set according to your welding parameters.

Flex Head Bending Instructions
The CK26 torch features a flexible head for improved access in various welding positions. To ensure the longevity and proper function of the flex head, follow these instructions:
- Warm-up First: Do not attempt to bend the torch head immediately after unboxing. The internal coils require warming. Strike a few arcs with the torch to allow the internal components to heat up.
- Bending Area: Once warmed, the flexible area is generally located between the start of the handle and approximately 1/2 inch before the torch head.
- Maximum Angle: The maximum bending angle is 40 degrees from the centerline. Exceeding this angle can damage the torch.
- Minimize Bends: To maintain torch integrity, minimize the number of times the head is flexed.
- Spread the Bend: When bending, distribute the flex evenly across the entire neck of the torch rather than concentrating it at a single point.
4. Operating
Once the torch is properly set up and connected to a TIG welding power source, you can begin operation.
- Power Source Settings: Configure your welding power source with the appropriate amperage, gas pre-flow/post-flow, and other parameters for your specific material and joint type.
- Arc Initiation: Initiate the arc using your preferred method (e.g., high-frequency start, lift-arc).
- Welding Technique: Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed. Ensure adequate shielding gas coverage throughout the weld.
- Torch Cooling: As an air-cooled torch, the CK26 relies on ambient air for cooling. Avoid exceeding the rated amperage for extended periods to prevent overheating.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance extends the life of your TIG torch and ensures consistent welding performance.
- Inspect Consumables: Regularly check the tungsten electrode for contamination or improper grind. Inspect collets, collet bodies, and nozzles for wear, cracks, or blockages. Replace worn consumables promptly.
- Cable Inspection: Examine the torch cable and hose for cuts, abrasions, or kinks. Ensure all connections are tight and free from leaks. The silicon rubber insulation provides protection against high-frequency leakage; inspect this for any damage.
- Cleaning: Keep the torch body and handle clean from spatter and debris. Use a soft cloth to wipe down surfaces.
- Storage: Store the torch in a clean, dry environment when not in use, protected from physical damage.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter during operation.
- Arc Instability or Difficulty Starting:
- Check tungsten condition (sharpness, contamination).
- Verify shielding gas flow and purity.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure.
- Inspect collet and collet body for proper fit and cleanliness.
- Gas Leaks:
- Tighten all hose fittings. The Fail-Safe fittings are designed to prevent leaks, but periodic checks are recommended.
- Inspect hoses for cuts or damage.
- Torch Overheating:
- Ensure the torch is not being operated above its rated 200A capacity.
- Allow for cooling periods during prolonged high-amperage welding.
- Poor Weld Quality (Porosity, Contamination):
- Check shielding gas flow rate and coverage.
- Ensure tungsten is clean and properly ground.
- Verify workpiece cleanliness.
- Inspect ceramic nozzle for cracks or blockages.
