2. Battery Installation
The EnSURE system is powered by 2 x AA batteries. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity. The device is designed for several months of uninterrupted use on a single set of batteries.
3. SureTrend Software Installation
The SureTrend software is essential for data analysis and reporting. Refer to the "Getting Started Digital Downloads" guide included in your package for instructions on downloading and installing the latest version of SureTrend software from the Hygiena website.

4. Connecting to Software
The EnSURE device connects to the SureTrend software via USB. Use a standard USB cable (not typically included, but commonly available) to connect the device to your computer. Follow the software's instructions for device synchronization and data transfer.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
Press and hold the power button (usually marked with a circle or power symbol) to turn the device on or off. The display will illuminate upon startup.
2. Navigation
Use the directional arrow buttons and the 'OK' button to navigate through the device's menu. The 'P' button typically accesses program settings, and the 'i' button provides information.
3. Performing a Test
- Select Test Type: From the main menu, select the desired test type (e.g., ATP, microbial).
- Prepare Test Device: Insert the appropriate Hygiena test device (e.g., UltraSnap, AquaSnap) into the EnSURE instrument's reading chamber.
- Initiate Test: Press the 'OK' button to start the test. The device will display a countdown and then the result.
Real-time ATP results and same-shift microbial indicator results are provided, making the EnSURE system an effective troubleshooting tool.
4. Interpreting Results
Results are displayed in Relative Light Units (RLUs) for ATP tests or other relevant units for microbial tests. Refer to your facility's established pass/fail limits and the SureTrend software for detailed analysis and trending.
5. Data Management
Regularly connect the EnSURE device to the SureTrend software to upload collected data. The software allows for comprehensive data storage, analysis, and report generation.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Device
Wipe the exterior of the EnSURE instrument with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in liquid. Ensure the reading chamber is clean and free of debris to maintain accurate readings.
2. Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears, replace both AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation and data integrity. Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline batteries.
3. Software Updates
Periodically check the Hygiena website for updates to the SureTrend software. Keeping the software updated ensures optimal performance, new features, and compatibility with the latest test devices.
