4. Setup

4.1. Installing Batteries

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the thermometer.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2. Initial Power On

After installing batteries, the thermometer will perform a self-test and display the last measured temperature or a default reading. It is now ready for use.

5.1. Device Overview

  • Probe: Infrared sensor for temperature detection.
  • LCD Display: Shows temperature readings, mode, and other indicators.
  • Power/Scan Button: Powers on the device and initiates temperature measurement.
  • MODE Button: Switches between Body and Object measurement modes.
  • MEM Button: Accesses memory records of previous measurements.
  • Sound Button: Toggles mute function (sound on/off).

5.2. Taking a Body Temperature Measurement

  1. Ensure the thermometer is in Body Mode. Press the MODE button to switch if necessary.
  2. Hold the thermometer approximately 0-2 inches (0-5 cm) from the center of the forehead.
  3. Press the Power/Scan button once.
  4. The temperature reading will appear on the LCD screen within one second.
  5. The display color will indicate the temperature status:
    • Green: Normal temperature (~99.2°F / ~37.3°C)
    • Orange: Slight fever (99.3°F ~ 100.2°F / 37.4°C ~ 37.9°C)
    • Red: Fever (100.4°F ~ / 38.0°C ~)

5.3. Measuring Object/Surface Temperature

  1. Press the MODE button to switch to Object Mode. The display will show an object icon.
  2. Point the thermometer at the object (e.g., bath water, baby milk bottle) you wish to measure.
  3. Press the Power/Scan button once.
  4. The temperature reading of the object's surface will appear on the LCD screen.

5.4. Switching Between Celsius and Fahrenheit

To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F):

  1. With the thermometer powered on, press and hold the MODE and MEM buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
  2. The unit will change on the display. Repeat the process to switch back.

5.5. Mute Function

To activate or deactivate the mute function:

  1. Press the Sound button (speaker icon) located on the side of the thermometer.
  2. An icon on the display will indicate whether the sound is on or off.

5.6. Memory Recall

The thermometer stores the last 32 temperature readings.

  1. Press the MEM button to view previous readings.
  2. Each press of the MEM button will cycle through the stored readings.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Thermometer

  • Wipe the thermometer body with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For the probe, gently wipe with an alcohol swab or a cloth dampened with alcohol. Allow to air dry.
  • Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any cleaning solutions.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.

6.2. Storage

  • Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If not in use for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Utilize the provided stand for convenient and safe storage.

7. Troubleshooting
