4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the crepe maker and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for storage or disposal.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the cooking plate with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Rinse with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  3. Placement: Place the crepe maker on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance. Keep it away from walls, curtains, and other heat-sensitive materials.
  4. Power Connection: Ensure the temperature control knob is set to the "OFF" position (usually indicated by '0'). Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Preheating: Plug in the crepe maker. The red power indicator light will illuminate. Turn the temperature control knob to your desired setting (e.g., medium). The green ready indicator light will turn on when the cooking plate has reached the set temperature. This may take a few minutes.
  2. First Crepe: For the first crepe, it is recommended to lightly grease the non-stick cooking surface with a small amount of cooking oil or butter. For subsequent crepes, this may not be necessary due to the non-stick coating.
  3. Pouring Batter: Pour a small amount of crepe batter (approximately 60-80ml, depending on desired thickness) onto the center of the hot cooking plate.
  4. Spreading Batter: Immediately use the wooden batter spreader to quickly and evenly spread the batter in a circular motion from the center outwards, creating a thin, round crepe.
  5. Cooking: Cook for approximately 1-2 minutes, or until the edges begin to crisp and the surface appears set.
  6. Flipping: Use the wooden spatula to gently lift the edge of the crepe and then flip it over to cook the other side for another 30-60 seconds, or until golden brown.
  7. Removing Crepe: Once cooked, use the wooden spatula to remove the crepe from the cooking plate. Place it on a plate and cover to keep warm, or serve immediately.
  8. Repeat: Repeat the process for remaining batter. Adjust the temperature control knob as needed to achieve desired browning.
  9. Finishing: When finished, turn the temperature control knob to the "OFF" position and unplug the appliance from the wall outlet.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your crepe maker.

  • Cool Down: Always allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Unplug: Ensure the crepe maker is unplugged from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Cleaning the Cooking Plate: Wipe the non-stick cooking plate with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn residue, use a small amount of mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or metal utensils, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the crepe maker's base unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
  • Accessories: Wash the wooden batter spreader and spatula by hand with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  • Storage: Store the clean and dry crepe maker in a cool, dry place.
