4. Installation Instructions

The Tier1 RWF1030 WF1CB filter is designed for tool-free replacement. Follow these steps for installation:

  1. Locate your refrigerator's existing water filter. Refer to your refrigerator's user manual for the exact location and removal procedure.

Regular filter replacement is crucial for maintaining optimal water quality and appliance performance.

  • Filter Lifespan: Each filter is designed to last for up to 300 gallons of water or approximately six months of typical household use, whichever comes first.
  • Replacement Tracking: A date sticker is included with each filter to help you track the installation date and determine when a change is needed.
  • Indicator Lights: Pay attention to your refrigerator's "Change Filter" indicator light, if equipped. This light typically illuminates when it's time to replace the filter.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues after installing your new filter, consider the following:

  • Water Leaks: Ensure the filter is fully seated and twisted clockwise until it locks. Remove and re-install if necessary.
  • Cloudy Water or Air Bubbles: This is common immediately after installation. Continue flushing 3-4 gallons of water through the dispenser to clear air and carbon fines.
  • Reduced Water Flow: Ensure the filter is correctly installed. If the issue persists, the filter might be clogged prematurely due to high sediment in your water supply, or it might be past its service life. Replace the filter if necessary.
  • Unusual Taste/Odor: Ensure the filter was properly flushed. If taste/odor persists after flushing, the filter may be defective or past its service life.
