Installation Steps:

  1. Remove Old Grips: Carefully remove the existing grips. This can often be done by sliding a flathead screwdriver under the grip and squirting a lubricant or compressed air to break the seal, then twisting and pulling them off. For glued grips, you may need to cut them off.
  2. Clean Handlebar: Thoroughly clean the handlebar surface where the grips will be installed. Remove any old adhesive residue, dirt, or grease using rubbing alcohol or a degreaser. Allow the surface to dry completely.
  3. Prepare New Grips: Ensure the inside of the new Puig grips is clean and dry. If using grip adhesive, apply a thin, even coat to the inside of the grip and/or the handlebar surface according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Install Grips: Carefully slide the new Puig grips onto the handlebars. For the throttle side, ensure the grip slides smoothly over the throttle tube without binding. Twist and push until the grips are fully seated against the control housings.
  5. Adjust and Secure: Once installed, ensure the grips are properly aligned and fully seated. If using adhesive, allow sufficient curing time before riding. Verify that the throttle operates freely and returns to the closed position without sticking.
