3. Network Setup (for Mobile Monitoring)
To enable mobile monitoring, the DVR must be connected to your network. Operating Instructions
Recording Options
The DVR offers versatile recording modes:
- Motion Activated: Recording begins automatically when motion is detected by the cameras. This conserves hard drive space.
- Manual Activation: You can manually start and stop recording at any time through the DVR's interface.
- Scheduled Programmable Recording: Set specific times and days for the DVR to record automatically.
Playback
To review recorded footage, navigate to the playback menu on the DVR. You can search for recordings by date, time, and event type (e.g., motion detection). Use the controls on the DVR, remote, or mouse to play, pause, fast-forward, and rewind.
Mobile Monitoring
Once the network setup is complete, you can access your surveillance system remotely via a compatible smartphone application. This allows you to view live feeds, review recordings, and manage settings from anywhere with an internet connection.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the DVR and camera exteriors with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Ventilation: Ensure the DVR unit has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Do not block air vents.
- Hard Drive Management: The 500GB hard drive will automatically overwrite the oldest footage when full. Periodically back up important recordings to an external storage device if needed.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates for your DVR model to ensure optimal performance and security.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No image on monitor | Loose cable connection, monitor off, incorrect input selected on monitor. | Check all cable connections (VGA/HDMI, power). Ensure monitor is on and set to the correct input source. |
| Cameras not displaying video | Camera power issue, cable issue, camera malfunction. | Verify cameras are receiving power. Check camera cables for damage or loose connections. Test camera on a different input if possible. |
| No recording or short recording time | Hard drive full, recording settings incorrect, motion detection sensitivity too low. | Check hard drive status. Adjust recording settings (e.g., continuous recording). Increase motion detection sensitivity. |
| Cannot access DVR remotely | Network configuration error, internet connectivity issue, firewall blocking. | Verify DVR is connected to the network. Check router settings (port forwarding). Ensure stable internet connection. Consult your network administrator or ISP. |
