5.2 Starting the Lawnmower
- Connect the power cord to a suitable outdoor power outlet.
- Press and hold the safety button, then pull the switch lever towards the handle.
- The motor will start. Release the safety button, but keep the switch lever held to continue operation.
5.3 Mowing Tips
- For best results, mow dry grass.
- Overlap cutting swaths slightly to ensure an even cut.
- Avoid overloading the motor by not attempting to cut excessively long or wet grass in one pass. Adjust cutting height if necessary.
- The grass collector has a fill level indicator. Empty the bag when full to maintain optimal collection performance.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your lawnmower.
6.1 Cleaning
- Always disconnect from power before cleaning.
- Clean the cutting deck and blade area after each use to prevent grass buildup. Use a brush or scraper.
- Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use high-pressure washers or allow water to enter the motor housing.
6.2 Blade Care
- Inspect the blade regularly for sharpness and damage. A dull blade can tear grass, leading to an unhealthy lawn.
- If the blade is damaged or excessively worn, replace it with an original HECHT replacement blade.
- When replacing the blade, ensure it is correctly balanced to prevent vibration.
6.3 Storage
- Store the lawnmower in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Ensure the power cord is neatly coiled and stored to prevent damage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lawnmower does not start. | No power supply. Safety switch not engaged. | Check power connection and circuit breaker. Ensure safety button is pressed and switch lever is held. |
| Poor cutting performance. | Dull or damaged blade. Cutting height too low for grass condition. Grass collector full. | Sharpen or replace blade. Increase cutting height. Empty grass collector. |
| Excessive vibration. | Unbalanced or damaged blade. Loose components. | Inspect and replace blade if necessary. Ensure blade is correctly balanced. Check all fasteners and tighten if loose. |
| Motor stops during operation. | Overload protection activated. Power supply interrupted. | Reduce load (e.g., raise cutting height, mow smaller sections). Allow motor to cool. Check power cord and connections. |
