4. Setup and Assembly

5.3 Mowing Techniques (5-in-1 Function)
- Mowing with Collection: Attach the grass collector bag. Mow in overlapping strips. Empty the grass bag when the fill level indicator shows it is full.
- Mulching: Insert the mulching plug into the discharge chute and remove the grass collector. The mower will finely chop grass clippings and return them to the lawn as natural fertilizer.
- Side Discharge: Attach the side discharge chute (if included and not using the grass collector or mulching plug). This option is useful for very tall grass where collection is not desired.
- Shredding Leaves and Branches: For light leaf and small branch shredding, use the mulching function. Ensure the material is not too thick or hard to avoid damaging the blade.
5.4 Wheel Drive Operation
The Hecht HEC-1803 features a wheel drive system. Engage the drive by pressing the dedicated lever on the handle (refer to Figure 3.7). This assists in pushing the mower, especially on slopes or larger areas. Release the lever to disengage the drive.
