Important Safety Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before operating the unit and retain them for future reference. Improper use can lead to electric shock, fire, or other hazards.

Product Overview

The Muse M-178 PW is a projection clock radio featuring FM/MW radio, dual alarms, snooze, sleep timer, and an AUX input. Familiarize yourself with the controls and display as shown below.

Controls and Indicators

Setup

1. Power Connection

Connect the external power adapter to the DC IN jack on the unit and then plug the adapter into a standard 230V AC, 50Hz wall outlet. The unit will power on or enter standby mode.

2. Battery Backup

For backup power, insert 2 x AAA batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. These batteries will retain the time and alarm settings in case of a power outage.

3. Initial Clock Setting

After connecting power, the display may flash. To set the current time:

  1. In standby mode, press and hold the TIME SET button (if available, otherwise proceed to step 2).
  2. Press the HR. button to adjust the hour.
  3. Press the MIN. button to adjust the minute.
  4. Release the button(s) to confirm the time.

Operating Instructions

1. Setting the Alarm

The unit features two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2).

  1. Press and hold the Alarm 1 Set or Alarm 2 Set button. The alarm time will flash.
  2. Use the HR. and MIN. buttons to set the desired alarm time.
  3. Press the Alarm Set button again to select the alarm source (Radio or Buzzer). An indicator will appear on the display.
  4. Release the button to confirm. The alarm icon will appear on the display, indicating the alarm is active.

2. Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/DIMMER button to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will sound again after a few minutes (default snooze time).

3. Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows the radio to play for a set duration before automatically turning off. To activate:

  1. While the radio is playing, press the SLEEP button (if available, otherwise refer to specific model instructions for combined functions).
  2. Repeatedly press the SLEEP button to cycle through available sleep times (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).

4. Radio Operation

The unit supports FM and MW bands.

  1. Press the Power/Standby button to turn on the unit.
  2. Press the FM/MW button (if available, otherwise cycle through modes) to select the desired radio band.
  3. Manual Tuning: Press the A- or A+ buttons repeatedly to tune to the desired frequency.
  4. Automatic Scan/Preset Storage: Press and hold the A- or A+ button to automatically scan for the next available station. To store a station as a preset, tune to the station, then press and hold a Preset Number button (if available) or follow specific instructions for automatic storage (e.g., press and hold SCAN button). The unit can store up to 20 preset stations (10 FM).
  5. Recalling Presets: Press the Preset Number buttons (if available) or use the A- or A+ buttons briefly to cycle through stored presets.

5. Time Projection

The unit can project the current time onto a wall or ceiling.

  1. Press the PROJECTION button to activate the projection.
  2. Use the ROTATE button to adjust the orientation of the projected time.
  3. Adjust the focus of the projected image by rotating the projection lens (if applicable).

6. Display Brightness (Dimmer)

In standby mode, repeatedly press the SNOOZE/DIMMER button to cycle through different display brightness levels.

7. AUX Input

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the AUX IN port using a 3.5mm audio cable. Press the AUX button to switch to AUX input mode. Audio from the external device will play through the unit's speaker.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the cabinet. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.

Battery Replacement

Replace the 2 x AAA backup batteries annually or when the backup function fails to retain time and alarm settings during a power interruption. Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
