5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to install and configure your DIRECTV Wireless Video Bridge:

  1. Placement: Position the Wireless Video Bridge in a central location within your home, ideally within range of all C41W/C61W Genie Minis you intend to connect. Ensure it is at least 4 feet away from your main Genie DVR to avoid potential interference.
  2. Connect to SWM Network: Connect a coaxial cable from your SWM splitter or SWM network to the Coaxial Input port on the Wireless Video Bridge. Ensure your SWM network is properly powered, typically by a separate SWM power inserter. Failure to power the SWM network can result in a "775 Error - Problem Communicating with the Dish."
  3. Power On: Connect the provided power adapter to the Power Input port on the Wireless Video Bridge, then plug the adapter into an electrical outlet. The Power LED should illuminate.
  4. Initial Boot-up: Allow the Wireless Video Bridge several minutes to boot up and establish a connection to your main Genie DVR. The Wireless Status LED may flash during this process.
  5. Pairing with Genie Minis:
    • On your main Genie DVR, navigate to the menu settings and select "Add Client."
    • The Genie DVR will put the Wireless Video Bridge into beacon mode, indicated by a flashing green/blue light on the WVB.
    • On your C41W/C61W Genie Mini, follow the on-screen prompts to connect to the Wireless Video Bridge. The network link on the Genie Mini should light up once connected.
  6. Activation: After physical installation and pairing, you may need to contact DIRECTV customer service to activate the new equipment on your account. Be prepared to provide the serial numbers and model numbers of both your Wireless Video Bridge and Genie Minis.

6. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and activated, the DIRECTV Wireless Video Bridge operates automatically. It continuously provides a wireless signal for your compatible Genie Minis to receive DIRECTV programming.
