5.2. Volume Adjustment

Rotate the power/volume knob to adjust the listening volume. Turn clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease.

5.3. Channel Selection

The RT22 radios have 16 pre-programmed channels. Use the channel selector knob (usually located near the antenna) to choose your desired channel. Ensure all radios in your group are on the same channel for communication.

5.4. Push-to-Talk (PTT)

To transmit, press and hold the large PTT button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen for a response.

5.5. VOX (Voice Operated Exchange)

The VOX function allows for hands-free transmission. When activated, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, without needing to press the PTT button. Refer to your specific user manual for instructions on how to activate and adjust VOX sensitivity.

5.6. Squelch Function

Squelch helps to suppress weak signals and background noise, providing clearer audio. The RT22 features an automatic squelch function. For optimal sound quality, ensure the volume is set appropriately.
