Setup

Initial Charge

Your Seiko Kinetic watch is powered by the motion of your arm. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, it requires an initial charge.

1. Gently swing the watch from side to side in an arc of about 20 cm (8 inches) at a rate of approximately two swings per second.
2. Continue swinging for several minutes until the second hand begins to move at one-second intervals.
3. For a full charge, continue swinging for approximately 250 swings (about 5 minutes) to achieve 24 hours of power reserve, or up to 500 swings (about 10 minutes) for a full charge of approximately 6 months power reserve.

Setting the Time and Date

1. Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
2. Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. When setting the minute hand, advance it a few minutes past the desired time and then turn it back to the exact time.
3. Push the crown back in to the first click position.
4. Turn the crown to set the date. Ensure the date changes at midnight, not noon. If setting the date between 9 PM and 1 AM, adjust the time first, then the date, to avoid the date changing incorrectly the next day.
5. Push the crown back in to the normal position.

Operating Your Watch

Timekeeping

The watch operates continuously once sufficiently charged. The second hand moves in one-second intervals.

Power Reserve Indication

To check the power reserve, press the button located at the 2 o'clock position (if available, this model might not have a dedicated power reserve button). The second hand will move to indicate the remaining power reserve:

• 5 seconds: Approximately 1 day
• 10 seconds: Approximately 7 days
• 20 seconds: Approximately 1 month
• 30 seconds: Approximately 6 months (full charge)

After indicating the power reserve, the second hand will return to normal timekeeping.

Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM). This makes it suitable for everyday use, swimming, and snorkeling. It is not suitable for scuba diving.

• Do not operate the crown or buttons when the watch is wet or submerged in water.
• Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water and dry thoroughly.
