Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 power supply into your computer system.

  1. Prepare Your System: Ensure your computer is completely powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Open your computer case to access the power supply bay.
  2. Remove Old PSU (if applicable): Disconnect all cables from your old power supply and remove it from the case.
  3. Install New PSU: Carefully slide the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 into the power supply bay. Secure it with the provided mounting screws.
  4. Connect Modular Cables:
    • Identify the necessary cables for your components (24-pin ATX for motherboard, 8-pin/4+4-pin EPS for CPU, 6+2-pin PCIe for graphics cards, SATA for drives, Molex for peripherals).
    • Plug the required modular cables into the corresponding ports on the power supply. The ports are clearly labeled (e.g., MB, CPU, VGA, SATA, PERIF).
    • Route the cables neatly through your case's cable management system.

  5. Connect to Components: Connect the other end of each modular cable to its respective component (motherboard, CPU, graphics card(s), SSDs/HDDs, optical drives, etc.). Ensure all connections are firm and secure.
  6. Connect AC Power: Once all internal connections are made, connect the AC power cord to the power supply's inlet and then to a grounded wall outlet or surge protector.
  7. Power On Self Tester (Optional): To test the power supply independently before full system assembly, connect the 24-pin ATX cable to the power supply and then connect the included EVGA Power On Self Tester to the 24-pin ATX connector. The power supply fan should spin briefly, indicating basic functionality.

Operation

After installation, you can power on your system. The EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 features an ECO Mode for optimized fan operation.

EVGA ECO Mode

The EVGA ECO Mode switch, located on the rear panel of the power supply, controls the fan's operation.

  • ECO Mode ON: When the switch is in the 'ON' position, the power supply fan will remain off during low to moderate loads, providing silent operation. The fan will only activate when the power supply reaches a certain temperature threshold or load level to maintain optimal cooling.
  • ECO Mode OFF: When the switch is in the 'OFF' position, the power supply fan will spin continuously, regardless of load or temperature, providing constant airflow.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your power supply.

  • Dust Removal: Periodically, and with the power supply unplugged from the wall, use compressed air to gently clear dust from the fan grille and ventilation openings. Do not insert any objects into the fan or vents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the power supply's intake and exhaust vents are not obstructed by cables or other components within the computer case. Maintain good airflow within your system.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the power supply. Do not use liquid cleaners or sprays.
