Operating Instructions
Once the adapter is correctly connected to both the power outlet and your Sharp Viewcam camcorder, the camcorder should either power on directly or begin charging its internal battery, depending on its design and current state.
Important Note on Batteries: Rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan, typically 1 to 3 years. If your camcorder's battery is old or completely depleted, it may not accept a charge, which is a characteristic of the battery itself and not an indication of a faulty adapter. To verify adapter functionality, a voltmeter can be used to check the output voltage.

Image: This diagram illustrates the correct polarity for the adapter, which is center positive. Ensure your device requires this polarity for proper function.
Maintenance
- Keep the adapter and its cords dry. Avoid exposure to moisture or liquids.
- Do not expose the adapter to extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the adapter to strong impacts.
- Do not attempt to open or disassemble the adapter. This will void the warranty and may cause damage or injury.
- When not in use, store the adapter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
- No Power to Camcorder:
- Ensure all connections are secure: AC power cord to adapter, adapter to wall outlet, and adapter to camcorder.
- Test the wall outlet with another device to confirm it is functional.
- Verify that the adapter's barrel connector is fully inserted into the camcorder's DC input port and matches the required tip type and polarity.
- If you suspect the camcorder's battery is faulty or dead, it may not accept a charge. A voltmeter is required to confirm if the adapter is outputting power correctly.
- Adapter Overheating:
- Unplug the adapter immediately.
- Ensure the adapter is used in a well-ventilated area and not covered.
- If overheating persists, discontinue use and contact support.
