Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the water reservoir, portafilter, filter baskets, and milk frother nozzle with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Water Reservoir: Fill the removable water reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line. Ensure the reservoir is properly seated in its compartment.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Priming the Pump: Before making coffee, run a cycle with only water to prime the pump and rinse the internal components.

Operating Instructions

Making Espresso

  1. Ensure the water reservoir is filled.
  2. Select the appropriate filter basket (single or double shot) and place it into the portafilter.
  3. Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter basket. Level and tamp the coffee evenly.
  4. Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until secure.
  5. Place an espresso cup(s) on the drip tray.
  6. Press the espresso brew button. The machine will begin extracting coffee.
  7. Once the desired volume is reached, press the brew button again to stop extraction.

Using the Milk Frother

  1. Fill a pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
  2. Turn the steam knob to the steam position. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate, indicating the machine has reached steaming temperature.
  3. Submerge the frothing nozzle just below the surface of the milk.
  4. Open the steam valve to release steam into the milk. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam.
  5. Once desired foam consistency is achieved, close the steam valve and remove the pitcher.
  6. Immediately wipe the frothing nozzle with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

Maintenance

Daily Cleaning

  • Empty and rinse the drip tray after each use.
  • Remove the portafilter and discard used coffee grounds. Rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water.
  • Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

Regular Cleaning (Reusable Filter)

  • Periodically clean the reusable filter basket thoroughly to remove any coffee oils or residue.
  • Use a small brush to clean the shower screen on the brewing head.

Descaling

Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines and follow the product's instructions. This process removes mineral buildup that can affect machine performance and coffee taste.
