Setup and Assembly

1. Attach Side Handle: Locate the threaded hole on the side of the polisher's head. Screw the side handle into this hole until it is securely fastened. The handle can be positioned on either side for left or right-handed use.
2. Install Backing Pad (if not pre-installed): Ensure the spindle is clean. Align the backing pad with the spindle and thread it on clockwise until it is hand-tight. Use the provided wrench (if applicable) to fully secure it, preventing loosening during operation.
3. Attach Sanding Disc or Polishing Pad: The 6-inch backing pad is designed for hook-and-loop attachments. Align your desired sanding disc or polishing pad with the backing pad and press firmly to secure it. Ensure it is centered to prevent imbalance.
4. Power Connection: Before plugging in, ensure the tool's power switch is in the "OFF" position. Connect the power cord to a standard 110-volt AC outlet.

Operating Instructions

This dual action orbital sander polisher is designed for both sanding and polishing applications on automotive and marine surfaces. Its random orbit action helps prevent swirl marks.

1. Power On/Off: To start the tool, slide the power switch to the "ON" position. To stop, slide it to the "OFF" position.
2. Variable Speed Control: The electronic variable-speed dial allows adjustment from 2,000 to 6,800 orbits per minute (OPM). Rotate the dial to select the desired speed. Lower speeds are generally used for polishing and finishing, while higher speeds are suitable for sanding and compounding.
3. Application Technique:
   • Always place the pad flat on the work surface before turning the tool on.
   • Apply light, even pressure. Allow the tool to do the work. Excessive pressure can reduce efficiency and potentially damage the surface or the tool.
   • Move the tool in a consistent, overlapping pattern across the work surface.
   • For polishing, use appropriate polishing compounds and pads. For sanding, use suitable grit sandpaper.
4. Control: Utilize the two-position side handle for optimal control and comfort, especially during extended use or when working on different angles.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: After each use, disconnect the tool from the power source. Wipe down the exterior with a clean, damp cloth. Remove any dust or debris from the air vents to prevent overheating.
