Setup
The Monoprice Chromatic Pedal Tuner is designed for easy integration into your pedalboard setup. Follow these steps for proper connection and power.
Powering the Unit
The pedal can be powered using either a 9V alkaline or heavy-duty battery, or a 9VDC power adapter (sold separately). For battery installation, open the battery compartment on the underside of the pedal and connect a 9V battery. For external power, connect a 9VDC power adapter to the DC9V input jack.

Connecting to Your Instrument and Amplifier
Connect your guitar or bass to the 1/4" TS input jack on the side of the pedal. The tuner features two 1/4" TS output options: Normal and Bypass.
- Normal Output: Connect this output to your amplifier or the next pedal in your signal chain. When the tuner is activated, the normal output is muted, allowing for silent tuning.
- Bypass Output: This output ignores the tuner completely, providing an un-muted signal directly from the input jack. Use this if you prefer your signal to always pass through, even when tuning.

Operating Instructions
The pedal tuner features a large, bright display for clear visibility on stage. The display shows the note being played and indicates whether it is sharp, flat, or in tune.
Activating the Tuner
Press the footswitch to activate or bypass the tuner. When activated, the display will illuminate and show tuning information. If using the Normal Output, your signal will be muted for silent tuning.

Tuning Modes and Calibration
- Chromatic Tuning: The tuner automatically detects the note being played. The large central display shows the note, while the bar graph at the top indicates whether the note is flat (left), sharp (right), or in tune (center green).
- Pitch Button: Use the "PITCH" button to adjust the calibration of the tuner. The default calibration is 440Hz. You can adjust it between 436-445Hz in 1Hz increments.
- Flat Button: Use the "FLAT" button to apply 1, 2, or 3 flats to the tuning, useful for drop tunings.
