Jebao Pond Waterfall Fountain Pump User Manual

Model: JGP-30000 | Brand: Jebao

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, installation, and maintenance of your Jebao Pond Waterfall Fountain Pump (Model JGP-30000, 7900 GPH). This pump is designed for use in ponds, streams, and large water features, providing high flow rates for effective water circulation and aesthetic displays. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure proper use and longevity of the product.

2. Important Safety Instructions

To reduce the risk of injury, always observe basic safety precautions, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • DANGER – To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since water is used in the use of this pond pump. For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the appliance.
  • If the appliance falls into the water, DO NOT reach for it. First, unplug it and then retrieve it. If electrical components get wet, unplug the appliance immediately.
  • Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • To avoid the possibility of the appliance plug or receptacle getting wet, position the pond stand or pond pump to one side of a wall-mounted receptacle to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle or plug. A "drip loop" should be arranged by the user for each cord connecting a pond appliance to a receptacle. The "drip loop" is that part of the cord below the level of the receptacle, or the connector if an extension cord is used, to prevent water from traveling along the cord and coming into contact with the receptacle. If the plug or receptacle does get wet, DO NOT unplug the cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance. Then unplug and examine for the presence of water in the receptacle.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • To avoid injury, do not contact moving parts or hot parts such as heaters, light sources, or lamp bulbs.
  • Always unplug an appliance from an outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Never yank cord to pull plug from outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.
  • Do not use an appliance for other than its intended use. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.
  • Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing.
  • Ensure the appliance is securely installed before operating it.
  • Read and observe all important notices on the appliance.
  • If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with a proper rating should be used. A cord rated for less amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or pulled.
  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Pump Placement

The Jebao JGP-30000 pump is designed for submersible use only. It can be positioned either horizontally or vertically at the bottom of your pond or water feature. Ensure the pump is placed on a stable, level surface to prevent it from tipping over. Avoid placing it directly in heavy sludge or debris, as this can impede water intake and increase maintenance frequency.

4.2. Connecting Tubing

The pump comes with a multi-size tubing connector to accommodate various hose diameters (3/4", 1", 1 1/2", 2").

  1. Select the appropriate diameter on the multi-size connector that matches your tubing. If necessary, trim the connector to the desired size using a sharp utility knife.
  2. Attach the selected connector to the pump's outlet. The pump features a 2-3/4" & 1-3/4" BSP male outlet.
  3. Securely fasten your pond tubing to the connector using a hose clamp (not included) to prevent leaks and ensure a tight seal.

4.3. Electrical Connection

The pump operates on 110-120V, 60Hz AC power. The power cord length is approximately 33 feet.

  • Ensure the power outlet is a grounded, GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected receptacle. This is a critical safety measure for outdoor electrical equipment.
  • Create a "drip loop" with the power cord to prevent water from traveling along the cord to the outlet.
  • Do not plug in the pump until it is fully submerged in water. Operating the pump dry can cause severe damage.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Initial Startup

  1. Once the pump is placed in the pond and the tubing is securely connected, ensure the pump is fully submerged in water.
  2. Plug the pump into the GFCI-protected electrical outlet. The pump should start immediately, circulating water.
  3. Observe the water flow to ensure it is consistent and free of air bubbles, which may indicate an airlock or insufficient water level.

5.2. Flow Rate and Head Height

This pump has a maximum flow rate of 7900 GPH (30000 L/hour) and a maximum head height of 26 feet. The actual flow rate will decrease as the head height (vertical distance the water is pumped) increases. Consider the specific requirements of your water feature when setting up the pump. If the flow is too strong for your application, a ball valve can be installed on the discharge tubing to regulate the flow (not included).

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump.

6.1. Cleaning the Pump and Pre-filter

  1. Always unplug the pump from the power source before performing any maintenance.
  2. Remove the pump from the pond.
  3. The pump features a protective pre-filter cage. Gently detach the pre-filter from the main pump body.
  4. Clean any accumulated debris, leaves, or algae from the pre-filter using a brush and clean water.
  5. Inspect the pump impeller for any blockages. If necessary, carefully remove the impeller cover and clean the impeller and its housing.
  6. Rinse all components thoroughly and reassemble the pump.
