4. Setup

  1. Unpack and Clean: Remove all packaging materials. Wash the removable water reservoir, filter basket, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  2. Install Charcoal Water Filter: Place the charcoal water filter into the filter holder within the removable water reservoir. Ensure it is securely seated.
  3. Fill Water Reservoir: Remove the water reservoir from the coffeemaker. Fill it with cold, fresh water up to the desired 12-cup maximum line. Place the reservoir back onto the coffeemaker.
  4. Add Coffee Grounds: Open the coffeemaker lid. Insert a paper filter into the filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee (approximately 1 tablespoon per cup, adjust to taste). Close the lid securely.

  1. Set Clock: Press the 'CLOCK' button. Use the 'HR' and 'MIN' buttons to set the current time.
  2. Brew Coffee:
    • Ensure water and coffee grounds are loaded.
    • For 1-4 cups, press the '1-4' button to optimize brewing for smaller quantities.
    • Press the 'ON/OFF' button to start brewing. The blue indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Dispense Coffee: Place your cup on the drip tray. Press the dispenser lever to release coffee. The dispenser light will illuminate to help you see the fill level. Release the lever to stop dispensing. For taller travel mugs, remove the drip tray.
  4. Program Auto-Brew:
    • Press the 'PROG' button. Use the 'HR' and 'MIN' buttons to set the desired brew time.
    • Press the 'AUTO ON' button to activate the programmed brew. The green indicator light will illuminate.
  5. Adjust Auto-Shutoff: The coffeemaker features an adjustable auto-shutoff. Refer to the full manual for specific instructions on setting the auto-off timer.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Daily Cleaning: After each use, remove and wash the filter basket, water reservoir, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffeemaker with a damp cloth.
  2. Descaling (Clean Function): Over time, mineral deposits can build up. The 'CLEAN' indicator light will illuminate when descaling is recommended. To descale:
    • Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water.
    • Press the 'CLEAN' button. The blue indicator light will illuminate.
    • The coffeemaker will run a special cleaning cycle. Once complete, the 'CLEAN' light will turn off.
    • Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse out any remaining vinegar.
  3. Charcoal Water Filter Replacement: The charcoal water filter should be replaced approximately every 60 days or after 60 uses. Refer to the filter packaging for specific instructions.
