Setup
Unpacking and Initial Cleaning
- Carefully remove all cookware pieces and accessories from the packaging.
- Remove any labels or protective films.
- Wash all items with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge.

Attaching and Detaching Handles
The Ingenio system features patented detachable handles for maximum versatility and space-saving. The handles are designed to attach and detach with a single click.
- To Attach: Align the handle with the designated attachment point on the rim of the pan. Press the handle firmly until you hear a click, indicating it is securely locked.
- To Detach: Press the release button on the handle and pull it away from the pan.
Ensure the handle is securely attached before lifting or moving a pan, especially when it contains hot food. The handle is proven to hold a weight of up to 10kg.
Operating Instructions
Cooking on the Hob
- This cookware set is compatible with all hobs excluding induction.
- Always use a hob burner size that matches the base of the pan to ensure even heating and energy efficiency.
- Do not overheat empty pans.
- The frying pans, wok, and saute pan feature Tefal's Thermo-Spot technology. The Thermo-Spot indicator turns solid red when the pan has reached the optimum cooking temperature (approximately 180°C/350°F), signaling it is ready for food.

Oven Use
- All Ingenio cookware pieces (pots and pans) are oven safe up to 260°C (500°F).
- Always remove the detachable handle before placing cookware in the oven.
- Glass lids are also oven safe, but plastic lids are not.
Serving and Storage
- After cooking, detach the handle to use the pan directly as a serving dish.
- For storing leftovers, allow the food to cool, then attach the appropriate plastic lid (16 cm or 20 cm) to the saucepan.
- The plastic lids are designed for refrigerator storage only and are not suitable for oven or hob use.

Utensil Compatibility
The Ingenio Elegance non-stick coating is durable and resistant. Metal utensils can be used, with the exception of whisks and knives, which may damage the non-stick surface. For best results and to prolong the life of your cookware, silicone or wooden utensils are recommended.
Maintenance and Care
Cleaning
- All cookware pieces (pots and pans) are dishwasher safe.
- For hand washing, use warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid harsh scourers or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
- The detachable handles should be hand washed and dried thoroughly. Do not immerse handles in water for extended periods or place them in the dishwasher, as this may affect their mechanism.
- Glass lids are dishwasher safe. Plastic lids should be hand washed.
- For stubborn food residues, soak the pan in warm, soapy water before cleaning.

Storage
The Ingenio design allows for optimal space-saving storage. The pots and pans stack easily into one another when the handles are detached.

Troubleshooting
- Food Sticking: Ensure you are using a small amount of cooking fat or oil. Overheating an empty pan can also damage the non-stick coating over time. Always allow the pan to cool before cleaning.
- Handle Not Attaching Securely: Check for any food debris or obstructions in the attachment mechanism on both the handle and the pan. Ensure the handle is correctly aligned before pressing to lock.
- Discoloration: Minor discoloration can occur over time due to high heat or certain foods. This typically does not affect the performance of the non-stick coating.
- Scratches on Non-stick Coating: While the coating is resistant, using sharp metal utensils (like knives or whisks) can cause scratches. These minor scratches usually do not affect the pan's non-stick properties or safety.
