Setup

1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the radio's battery. The RT7 features a built-in 1000 mAh rechargeable lithium battery, providing 8-10 hours of continuous use when fully charged.

  • Connect the USB charging base to a power source (PC, wall adapter, mobile charger, car charger).
  • Place the radio or the battery (if charging separately) into the charging cradle.
  • The LED indicator on the charger will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).

2. Attaching the Belt Clip

Secure the belt clip to the back of the radio for convenient carrying.

3. Connecting Earpiece (Optional)

If using an earpiece, plug it into the speaker/microphone jacks on the side of the radio.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment

Rotate the Power Switch/Volume Control knob clockwise to turn the radio on. Continue rotating to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and turn off the radio.

2. Channel Selection

Rotate the Channel Switch knob to select one of the 16 available channels. The radio will audibly announce the selected channel number.

3. Transmitting and Receiving

To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen for incoming transmissions.

4. VOX Function (Hands-Free Operation)

The RT7 supports VOX (Voice Operated Exchange), allowing hands-free transmission. When VOX is enabled, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, and stop when you stop speaking. Refer to the full user manual for detailed instructions on enabling and adjusting VOX sensitivity.

5. Flashlight Function

The built-in flashlight can be activated using one of the programmable side keys (SK1 or SK2). It typically offers direct light and blinking (SOS) modes.

Maintenance
