4. Setup and Installation
The ARREGUI SEG001 security bar is designed for quick and easy installation. Follow these steps to secure your door or window:
4.1 Assembling the Bar
- If the upper clamp is not already attached, insert it into the top end of the main tube until it clicks securely into place.
- Ensure the locking pin is accessible for length adjustment.

4.2 Installation for Hinged Doors
- Open the door slightly to allow space for positioning the bar.
- Place the upper clamp over the door knob or handle. Ensure it is securely seated and the anti-scratch padding is in contact with the handle.
- Extend the bar by pulling the lower section until the rubberized base makes firm contact with the floor.
- Adjust the length using the locking pin to ensure a snug fit. The bar should be angled slightly towards the door, providing resistance against inward force. The adjustable length ranges from 72 cm to 114 cm.
- Verify that the rotating ball joint at the base allows the rubber foot to maintain full contact with the floor, preventing slippage and protecting the floor surface.

4.3 Installation for Sliding Doors and Windows
For sliding doors or windows, the bar can be positioned horizontally in the track.
- Place the bar horizontally within the track of the sliding door or window.
- Extend the bar until it is firmly wedged between the frame and the moving panel, preventing it from opening.
- Ensure the rubberized ends are making full contact with the surfaces to prevent scratching and provide maximum grip.
- Adjust the length using the locking pin to achieve a tight fit.

5. Operating Instructions
To engage the security bar:
- Follow the installation steps in Section 4 to position the bar correctly for your door or window type.
- Ensure the bar is extended to the appropriate length and the locking pin is securely engaged in one of the adjustment holes.
- Confirm that the upper clamp is firmly gripping the door handle/knob (for hinged doors) or that the bar is tightly wedged in the track (for sliding doors/windows).
- Check that the rubberized base is stable on the floor and not prone to slipping.
To disengage the security bar:
- Press the locking pin to release the extension mechanism.
- Retract the bar to its shortest length.
- Remove the upper clamp from the door handle/knob or lift the bar from the sliding track.
- Store the bar in a safe place when not in use.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and effectiveness of your security bar:
- Cleaning: Wipe the steel tube and rubber components with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically check the bar for any signs of damage, such as bends in the steel, cracks in the rubberized base, or wear on the anti-scratch clamp.
- Lubrication: If the extension mechanism becomes stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the sliding parts.
- Storage: Store the bar in a dry place to prevent rust or material degradation.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ARREGUI SEG001 security bar, refer to the following:
- Bar is not stable: Ensure the rubberized base is making full, flat contact with the floor. Adjust the angle and length until the bar is firm. Check for debris under the base.
- Bar slips on the floor: Verify the floor surface is clean and dry. The rubber base provides grip, but extreme conditions (e.g., very wet or oily floors) may reduce effectiveness.
- Cannot adjust length: Ensure the locking pin is fully disengaged before attempting to extend or retract the bar. Check for any obstructions in the adjustment holes.
- Clamp does not fit handle: The clamp is designed for standard door knobs and handles. If your handle has an unusual shape, the clamp may not provide optimal grip. Ensure the handle is fully seated within the clamp.
- Bar does not fit opening: Confirm the opening (doorway or window width) is within the bar's adjustable range of 72 cm to 114 cm.
