1. Product Overview

2. Important Safety Information

4. Setup and Assembly

4.1 Compatibility

The MTD100 Mower Deck is compatible with the following BLACK+DECKER 12-inch string trimmer/edger models:

4.2 Attaching the Mower Deck

  1. Ensure your string trimmer is turned off and the battery is removed (or unplugged).
  2. Place the MTD100 mower deck on a flat, stable surface.
  3. Align the head of your compatible string trimmer with the opening in the mower deck. The trimmer head should fit securely into the designated slot.
  4. Gently push the trimmer down into the deck until it clicks into place. Verify that the orange tab (if present on your trimmer model) is fully engaged and locked.

4.3 Adjusting Cutting Height

The mower deck offers two adjustable cutting height settings. To adjust:

  1. With the trimmer detached, locate the height adjustment levers on the mower deck.
  2. Move the levers to your desired cutting height position.
  3. Re-attach the string trimmer as described in Section 4.2.

5. Operating Your Mower Deck

5.1 General Operation

  1. Ensure the string trimmer is securely attached to the mower deck and the battery is fully charged or the cord is properly connected.
  2. Start the string trimmer according to its specific operating instructions.
  3. Push the mower deck across the grass in overlapping rows, similar to a traditional lawn mower. Maintain a steady pace for an even cut.
  4. Avoid attempting to cut excessively tall or wet grass, as this can strain the trimmer and lead to an uneven cut.
  5. To switch back to string trimmer mode, turn off the trimmer, remove the battery/unplug the cord, and press the release tab to detach the trimmer from the mower deck.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: After each use, ensure the string trimmer is off and disconnected from power. Clean any grass clippings or debris from the mower deck and trimmer head using a brush or cloth. Do not use water directly on electrical components.
  • Storage: Store the mower deck in a dry, protected area. Utilize the integrated wall-hanging option for space-saving storage.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the wheels, height adjustment mechanisms, and the trimmer attachment points for wear or damage. Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.

7. Troubleshooting
