1. Introduction

2. Setup

2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Upon opening the package, ensure all components are present and undamaged. The package typically includes the Nuvi 65 LM device, a vehicle power cable, a suction cup mount, and a USB cable.

2.2 Attaching the Vehicle Mount

The device comes with a suction cup mount for easy installation on your vehicle's windshield or dashboard. The mount consists of two main parts: the suction cup arm and the device cradle.

  1. Align the device cradle with the slot on the back of your Nuvi 65 LM.
  2. Gently push the cradle onto the device until it snaps securely into place.
  3. Attach the suction cup arm to the device cradle's ball joint.
  4. Clean the desired mounting surface (windshield or dashboard) thoroughly.
  5. Press the suction cup firmly against the surface and flip the lever to secure it.

2.3 Powering the Device

Connect the vehicle power cable to the USB port on the back of the Nuvi 65 LM and plug the other end into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket). The device will automatically power on when connected to vehicle power.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Main Menu Overview

The main menu provides access to all primary functions of your Nuvi 65 LM. You can select 'Where To?' to enter a destination or 'View Map' to see your current location and surrounding areas.

3.2 Entering a Destination

To begin navigation, select 'Where To?' from the main menu. You can then choose from various search options:

  • Address: Enter a specific street address.
  • Categories: Search for points of interest (POIs) by category (e.g., restaurants, gas stations, hotels).
  • Saved: Select from your list of saved favorite locations.
  • Recent: Choose from recently visited destinations.

3.3 Following a Route

Once a destination is selected, the Nuvi 65 LM will calculate the best route and provide clear, spoken turn-by-turn directions. The display will show your current position, the route ahead, and important navigation cues.

  • Spoken Turn-by-Turn Directions: Garmin Real Voice technology provides natural-sounding voice guidance.
  • Lane Assist with Junction View: As you approach complex intersections or highway exits, the screen will split to show a realistic view of the junction, with brightly colored arrows indicating the correct lane to be in.
  • Speed Limit Displays: The current speed limit for the road you are on is displayed on the screen.
  • Up Ahead: This feature allows you to quickly find upcoming points of interest along your route without leaving the map view.

3.4 Driver Alerts
