This manual provides essential information for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new Horizon Treadmill Running Belt, Model RST5.6 TM212 2007. Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding to ensure proper function and longevity of your product.
The WALKINGBELTS 1-ply Sand Blast - Pro Residential Running Belt is a high-quality product fabricated in the USA, designed for optimal performance on compatible treadmills.
Before installing the new running belt, ensure your treadmill is unplugged from the power source. Refer to your treadmill's original manufacturer manual for specific instructions on removing the old belt and accessing the motor and deck area.
This running belt is a 1-ply Sand Blast residential type. It is crucial to use a 1-ply belt for treadmills with smaller motors. Using a 2-ply belt on such treadmills is not recommended as it can cause excessive stress and overheating of the motor, potentially leading to damage and reduced lifespan.
Carefully position the new running belt onto the treadmill deck, ensuring it is centered and aligned with the rollers. Adjust the tension bolts evenly on both sides until the belt is snug but not overly tight. Over-tightening can cause premature wear on the belt and motor.
Your new WALKINGBELTS running belt comes pre-lubricated with 100% Silicone. This initial lubrication is sufficient for the first period of use. Regular lubrication is essential for maintaining belt performance and extending its life.

After installation, plug in your treadmill and perform a test run at a slow speed. Observe the belt for any signs of misalignment or unusual noise. If the belt drifts to one side, adjust the tension bolts slightly until it runs centrally.
To align the belt, run the treadmill at a low speed (e.g., 2-3 mph). If the belt moves to the right, turn the right rear roller bolt clockwise in quarter-turn increments until the belt centers. If it moves to the left, turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise. Allow the belt to run for a minute after each adjustment to observe the effect.
Proper belt tension is crucial. The belt should be tight enough not to slip during use but loose enough to allow a hand to slide between the belt and the deck. Over-tensioning can strain the motor and rollers.
Regular lubrication with 100% silicone treadmill lubricant is vital. The frequency depends on usage, but a general guideline is every 3-6 months or after 100-150 hours of use. Lift the belt and apply lubricant directly to the center of the deck, then run the treadmill at a slow speed for a few minutes to distribute it.
Keep the running belt and deck clean. Wipe down the belt surface with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the belt material.
Periodically inspect the belt for signs of wear, fraying, or damage. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage to the treadmill.
If the belt slips during use, it may be too loose or require lubrication. First, check and adjust the belt tension. If slipping persists, apply silicone lubricant as per the maintenance instructions.
If the belt consistently drifts to one side, it requires alignment. Follow the 'Belt Alignment' steps in the Operating Instructions section.
Unusual noises can indicate various issues. Check for debris under the belt, ensure proper lubrication, and verify belt tension and alignment. If the noise persists, consult a qualified technician.
