Product Overview
The EASYGUARD EC004 is a smart RFID push engine start button kit designed to upgrade key-start vehicles to a push-start and keyless go system. This system enhances vehicle security and convenience by integrating RFID technology for arming and disarming.

Figure 1: Complete contents of the EASYGUARD EC004 kit, including the push start button, control module, wiring harness, loop antenna, and RFID tags.
Key Features:
- RFID push start button system for easy arming and disarming.
- Converts traditional key-start vehicles to a modern push-start and keyless go system.
- Includes a push start/stop button and RFID transponder tags.
- Supports ACC, ON, and OFF modes via the push button.
- Features Valet mode and emergency override/disarm functions.
- Designed for DC12V petrol cars (not compatible with motorcycles, boats, trucks, or home motors).
Important Note:
- This system does not include remote engine start, lock, or unlock functions.
- Professional installation is highly recommended.
- The vehicle's steering lock must be unlocked, released, or removed during installation.
- An additional bypass module (e.g., ASIN: B07NSLPBG7 or B00MEHBVIC) is required if your car's factory OEM key fob has a chip immobilizer.
- For diesel cars with an engine starting/cranking time exceeding 3 seconds, an extra timer delay switch may be necessary.
Setup and Installation Considerations
Proper installation is crucial for the functionality and safety of the EASYGUARD EC004 system. Due to the complexity of vehicle electrical systems, professional installation by a qualified car alarm installer is strongly advised.
Component Identification:
- Push Start Button: The main interface for starting and stopping the engine.
- Control Module: The central processing unit for the system.
- 6-Pin Ignition Wire Harness: Connects the system to the vehicle's ignition.
- Foot Brake Wire: Connects to the vehicle's brake signal for safety interlock.
- Loop Antenna: Used for RFID tag detection.
- Transponder Tags (Key Fob Style): Two blue key fob style RFID tags for arming/disarming.
- Card Transmitter (RFID Card): One card-style RFID tag for arming/disarming.

Pre-Installation Checks:
- Ensure your vehicle is a DC12V petrol car.
- Obtain your vehicle's wiring diagram for accurate connections.
- Confirm the steering lock can be removed or bypassed.
- Acquire a bypass module if your vehicle has a chip immobilizer.
Operating Instructions
Arming the System:
After the vehicle is shut off, the system will automatically enter arming mode after approximately 50 seconds. In arming mode, the push start button will be inactive until disarmed.
Disarming the System:
To disarm the system, bring one of the RFID transponder tags (key fob or card) close to the black loop antenna. The sensing distance is approximately 1-2 inches (2-5 cm). The system will emit a "Bi, Bi" sound, indicating successful disarming.

Figure 6: Illustration of disarming the system by bringing an RFID transponder tag within sensing range of the loop antenna.
Starting the Car:
Once the system is disarmed, you can start the car using one of two methods:
- Method 1 (Short Press): While stepping on the foot brake pedal, short press the engine start/stop button once. The engine will start.
- Method 2 (Long Press): While stepping on the foot brake pedal, keep holding the engine start/stop button for approximately 3 seconds. The engine will start. This method is often used for vehicles that require a longer crank time.

Figure 7: Visual guide for starting the car using either a short press or a 3-second long press of the engine start/stop button while pressing the brake pedal.

Figure 8: Illustrates the convenience of the push-button start system, eliminating the need for a traditional key insertion into the ignition cylinder.
Stopping the Car:
Once the car is running, step on the foot brake pedal and short press the engine start/stop button once. The engine will shut off.
Shifting Modes (ACC-ON-OFF):
Without pressing the foot brake, short pressing the engine start/stop button will cycle through the ignition modes:
- First press: ACC (Accessory mode)
- Second press: ON (Ignition on)
- Third press: OFF (Ignition off)
Valet Mode:
The system includes a valet mode. Refer to the detailed wiring diagram and specific instructions provided with your kit for activating and exiting valet mode. This mode typically allows the vehicle to be started and driven without the RFID tag, useful for service personnel.
Emergency Override/Disarm:
In case of an emergency or if the RFID tag is lost/damaged, an emergency override procedure is available. Consult the specific instructions in your kit for the exact steps to perform an emergency disarm.
Maintenance
The EASYGUARD EC004 system is designed for low maintenance. Regular checks can help ensure its longevity and proper function:
- Wiring Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or loose connections. Ensure all connections remain secure.
- RFID Tag Care: Keep RFID transponder tags clean and dry. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or strong magnetic fields, which could affect their functionality.
- Button Cleanliness: Keep the push start button free from dust and debris to ensure smooth operation.
- Battery Replacement: The system itself does not require user-replaceable batteries for its main operation. However, if any external components or future accessories require batteries, replace them as needed following the specific component's instructions.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your EASYGUARD EC004 system, consider the following common troubleshooting steps. For complex issues, professional assistance is recommended.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| System does not arm automatically. | Vehicle not fully shut off; system not detecting vehicle off state. | Ensure vehicle is completely off and all doors are closed. Wait 50 seconds for automatic arming. Check wiring to vehicle's ignition off signal. |
| System does not disarm. | RFID tag not detected; tag too far from antenna; faulty tag or antenna. | Bring RFID tag within 1-2 inches (2-5 cm) of the loop antenna. Try a different RFID tag if available. Inspect loop antenna wiring. |
| Engine does not start when button is pressed. | System not disarmed; foot brake not pressed; incorrect button press duration; wiring issue; immobilizer active. | Ensure system is disarmed (listen for "Bi, Bi" sound). Confirm foot brake is firmly pressed. Try both short and 3-second long presses. Verify all ignition wiring connections. Check if a bypass module is needed or functioning correctly for immobilizer. |
| Engine does not shut off. | Foot brake not pressed; button not pressed correctly; wiring issue. | Ensure foot brake is firmly pressed. Short press the button once. Check wiring to vehicle's ignition off signal. |
| Unexpected behavior or intermittent issues. | Loose connections; power fluctuations; interference. | Inspect all wiring connections for tightness. Ensure stable 12V power supply. Minimize sources of electrical interference near the control module and antenna. |
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact customer support or a professional installer.
