Vestil EPFC-25 Steel Electric Powered Floor Crane User Manual
Model: EPFC-25 | Brand: Vestil
Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Vestil EPFC-25 Steel Electric Powered Floor Crane. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the unit to ensure proper usage and to prevent injury or damage.
The Vestil EPFC-25 is a fully powered electric floor crane designed for lifting and maneuvering heavy loads in industrial environments. Its robust construction and integrated safety features make it a reliable tool for material handling.
Safety Information
Always prioritize safety when operating the EPFC-25. Failure to follow safety guidelines can result in serious injury or equipment damage.
- Ensure all operators are trained and familiar with this manual.
- Inspect the crane before each use for any signs of damage or wear.
- Do not exceed the rated load capacity of 2500 lbs.
- Operate only on level surfaces. The unit is not recommended for use on inclined surfaces greater than 4 degrees.
- Keep hands and feet clear of moving parts.
- Utilize the emergency stop button in hazardous situations.
- Ensure the load is properly secured with the safety latch on the hook before lifting.
Setup and Initial Operation
Upon receiving your Vestil EPFC-25, perform the following steps before initial use:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the crane from its packaging. Verify all components are present and undamaged. The unit typically ships as a complete crane.
- Initial Battery Charge: The unit includes two product-specific batteries. Before first use, fully charge the batteries using the integral battery charger. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet. The battery level gauge will indicate charging status.
- Familiarization: Locate all controls: the ergonomic handle with throttle, lift/lower controls, emergency stop button, and emergency reverse belly switch.
- Pre-Operation Check: Before each use, check the condition of the wheels, hydraulic system, and all safety mechanisms. Ensure the emergency battery disconnect is in the 'ON' position.

Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of the EPFC-25:
- Power On: Ensure the emergency battery disconnect is engaged. The battery level gauge will illuminate.
- Maneuvering: Use the ergonomic handle to steer the crane. The throttle on the handle provides infinite adjustment of forward and reverse speeds. Gently twist the throttle to control movement. The poly-on-steel steer and load wheels allow for smooth navigation.
- Lifting Loads: Position the crane directly over the load. Securely attach the load to the heavy-duty rigid hook, ensuring the safety latch is closed. Use the controlled lift/lower controls on the handle to raise or lower the boom. The high-torque DC lift motor provides powerful lifting capability.
- Emergency Reverse Function: In case of an emergency where the operator is pinned, activate the emergency reverse belly switch. This instantly reverses the direction of the unit, moving it forward (away from the operator) until the switch is released or after 1.5 seconds. A built-in safety circuit will disable the unit if the switch is held for more than 1.5 seconds, requiring a manual reset.
- Braking: The unit features an electromagnetic disc brake with an automatic dead-man feature. Releasing the handle will automatically activate the brake, bringing the unit to a stop.
- Adjusting Legs: The crane features adjustable length legs to accommodate various operational needs. Consult the specific mechanism for leg adjustment on your unit.

- Battery Care: Fully charge the batteries after each shift or extended use. Avoid deep discharges. Periodically check battery terminals for corrosion and clean if necessary.
- General Inspection: Regularly inspect all moving parts, including wheels, bearings, and hydraulic cylinders, for wear or damage.
- Hydraulic System: Check hydraulic fluid levels periodically. Consult a qualified technician for any hydraulic system issues or leaks.
- Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free of debris. Use a damp cloth for cleaning; avoid harsh chemicals.
- Fasteners: Periodically check all bolts, nuts, and fasteners to ensure they are tight.
