Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your CL310K deadbolt. It is recommended to have basic DIY skills or consult a professional for installation.

Pre-Installation Checklist:

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Door: If not already present, drill a 2 1/8" (54mm) bore hole through the door and a 1" (25mm) bore hole into the door edge for the latch mechanism.
  2. Install Latchbolt: Insert the dual-backset latchbolt into the door edge. Ensure the correct backset (60mm or 70mm) is selected and the latch faceplate is flush with the door edge. Secure with screws.
  3. Install Spindles: Insert the appropriate spindles through the latchbolt mechanism.
  4. Mount Outer Body: Position the outer lock body (with keypad) onto the door, aligning the spindle and through-bolts with the latch and inner mounting plate.
  5. Mount Inner Body: Attach the inner lock body to the outer body using the provided screws, ensuring the lock is plumb and level. Do not overtighten.
  6. Test Operation: Before closing the door, test the deadbolt's operation with both the keypad code and the key override. Ensure the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly without binding.

For detailed diagrams and specific measurements, refer to the included installation template.

Operating Instructions

Unlocking with Code:

  1. Enter your code by pressing the buttons in the correct sequence. The CL310K allows code entry in any sequence (non-sequential).
  2. Once the correct buttons are pressed, turn the handle/knob to retract the deadbolt.
  3. Release the handle/knob to allow the deadbolt to extend and secure the door.

Locking the Door:

To lock the door, simply close it. The deadbolt will automatically extend. For enhanced security, ensure the deadbolt is fully extended into the strike plate.

Changing the Code:

The CL310K comes with a random factory-set code. It is highly recommended to change this code immediately after installation.

  1. Remove the lock from the door (or access the code change plate on the back of the outer body).
  2. Locate the code change pins/tumblers on the back of the keypad unit.
  3. Using a small tool (e.g., tweezers or a small screwdriver), rotate the pins corresponding to your desired new code. Pins should be set to 'ON' for numbers in the code and 'OFF' for numbers not in the code.
  4. Reassemble the lock onto the door.
  5. Test the new code multiple times with the door open before closing and locking.

Important: Always record your new code in a secure location. Do not share your code with unauthorized individuals.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the smooth and reliable operation of your Codelocks CL310K.
