Operating Instructions
1. Setting the Time
- Pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure you set the correct AM/PM by observing the date change (the date will change around midnight).
- Once the time is set, push the crown back to the normal (closed) position. The second hand will resume movement.
2. Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to the first click position.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on the movement) to set the date.
- Important: Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism and potentially damage the movement. If you need to set the date during this period, first set the time outside this window, adjust the date, and then reset the time.
- Push the crown back to the normal (closed) position.
3. Using the Chronograph
Your watch is equipped with a chronograph function for measuring elapsed time.
- To start the chronograph, press the top pusher (button above the crown). The chronograph second hand will begin to move.
- To stop the chronograph, press the top pusher again. The chronograph hands will stop, indicating the elapsed time.
- To reset the chronograph, press the bottom pusher (button below the crown). The chronograph hands will return to their zero positions.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly wipe your watch with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, dirt, and moisture. For stainless steel components, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed immediately by a dry cloth to prevent water spots.
2. Water Resistance
Your watch has a water resistance rating of 100 meters (330 feet). This makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling. However, it is not suitable for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance.
3. Battery Replacement
When the battery needs replacement, it is highly recommended to have it done by an authorized GUESS service center or a professional watchmaker. This ensures that the correct battery is used, the watch is properly sealed, and its water resistance is maintained.
Troubleshooting
- Watch Not Running:
Ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If the watch still does not run, the battery may need replacement. - Date Not Changing:
Verify that the time is set correctly for AM/PM. Remember to avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM. - Condensation Inside Crystal:
If you notice condensation under the watch crystal, it indicates a loss of water resistance. Seek professional service immediately to prevent further internal damage to the movement. - Inaccurate Timekeeping:
A quartz watch should be highly accurate. If your watch is consistently losing or gaining significant time, the battery may be low, or the movement may require servicing.
Warranty and Support
Your GUESS U0075G5 watch comes with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal use. It does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, damage resulting from improper use, or damage caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications.
For warranty claims, service inquiries, or technical support, please refer to the warranty card included with your watch for specific instructions or contact your original point of purchase. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty validation.
Safety Information
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (above 60°C / 140°F or below 0°C / 32°F), as this can affect battery life and movement accuracy.
- Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones), as these can temporarily affect the accuracy of the quartz movement.
- Avoid dropping the watch or subjecting it to severe impacts.
- Do not attempt to open the watch case yourself. This will void the warranty and may cause damage to the internal components.
- If you experience any skin irritation from wearing the watch, discontinue use and consult a medical professional.
