Introduction
The One Control Minimal Series AB Box is a compact and versatile signal routing device designed for musicians. It allows you to control the direction of your audio signal path, enabling functions such as selecting between amplifiers, muting your signal, or switching between different input sources. Its robust design ensures durability and low noise performance.
Product Overview
The AB Box features one input and two outputs (A and B), along with a footswitch to toggle between the outputs. It also includes a 9-volt power input for LED indicator functionality.

Key Features:
- Compact and durable design.
- One input, two outputs (A and B).
- Footswitch for toggling between outputs.
- LED indicators for active output (requires power).
- Can operate passively without power (LEDs will not function).
Setup
Connecting as an Output Selector (1 Input to 2 Outputs):
- Connect your instrument (e.g., guitar) to the INPUT jack on the AB Box.
- Connect a cable from the OUTPUT A jack to your first destination (e.g., Amplifier A).
- Connect a cable from the OUTPUT B jack to your second destination (e.g., Amplifier B or a tuner).
- For LED functionality, connect a 9-volt center negative power supply to the POWER input. The unit will function passively without power, but the LEDs will not illuminate.
Connecting as an Input Selector (2 Inputs to 1 Output):
- Connect your first instrument to the OUTPUT A jack (used as Input 1 in this configuration).
- Connect your second instrument to the OUTPUT B jack (used as Input 2 in this configuration).
- Connect a cable from the INPUT jack (used as Output in this configuration) to your amplifier or next pedal in the signal chain.
- For LED functionality, connect a 9-volt center negative power supply to the POWER input. The unit will function passively without power, but the LEDs will not illuminate.
Operating Instructions
Toggling Outputs/Inputs:
Once connected, press the footswitch to toggle between the active output (A or B) or active input (A or B). If a power supply is connected, the red and blue LEDs will indicate which path is currently active.
Mute/Tuner Switch Functionality:
To use the AB Box as a mute or tuner switch, connect your main signal path to one output (e.g., Output A) and your tuner to the other output (e.g., Output B). When you switch to Output B, your main signal will be muted, allowing you to tune silently. Even without a tuner connected, switching to an unused output will mute your signal.
Maintenance
- Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Do not attempt to open the enclosure or modify the internal circuitry, as this may void the warranty and cause damage.
- Ensure all cables are securely connected to prevent signal loss or intermittent operation.
Troubleshooting
No Sound:
- Check all cable connections to ensure they are secure and correctly plugged into the designated input/output jacks.
- Verify that the footswitch is set to the desired active output/input.
- Test cables and other equipment in your signal chain to rule out external issues.
LEDs Not Illuminating:
- Ensure a 9-volt center negative power supply is connected to the POWER input.
- Check that the power supply is functioning correctly and providing the specified voltage.
- The unit can operate passively without power, but the LEDs will not light up. This is normal behavior.
Unwanted Noise/Hum:
- Ensure proper grounding for all connected equipment.
- Use high-quality, shielded instrument cables.
- If using two amplifiers, ground loop issues may occur. Consider using a ground loop isolator if necessary.
