Safety Instructions

Setup

1. Preparation: Ensure the battery is clean and free of corrosion. If charging an automotive battery, ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and all accessories are disconnected.
2. Ventilation: Place the charger and battery in a well-ventilated area.
3. Connect Battery Clamps:
   • Connect the red positive (+) charger clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal.
   • Connect the black negative (-) charger clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal.
   • Important: Ensure a secure connection. If the polarity LED illuminates red, disconnect immediately and re-check connections.
4. Connect to Power: Plug the charger's power cord into a standard 230V AC grounded electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Once the charger is connected to the battery and power source:

1. Select Charge Rate: The charger features a switch to select the appropriate charge rate based on battery capacity.
   • "Rabbit" (Fast Charge): For batteries with higher capacity (e.g., 25-120Ah).
   • "Turtle" (Standard/Slow Charge): For batteries with lower capacity (e.g., 18-70Ah). This mode may require manual disconnection after charging.
2. Monitor Charging Progress: Observe the LED indicators on the front panel:
   • Red LED (Polarity/Error): Indicates incorrect connection or a fault. Disconnect immediately and check connections.
   • Yellow LED (Charging in Progress): Illuminates when the battery is actively charging.
   • Green LED (Full Charge): Illuminates when the battery is fully charged. In fully automatic mode, the charger will switch to maintenance charge. In standard mode, manual disconnection is required.
3. Disconnection:
   • First, unplug the charger from the AC power outlet.
   • Then, disconnect the black negative (-) charger clamp from the battery.
   • Finally, disconnect the red positive (+) charger clamp from the battery.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Disconnect the charger from power and battery before cleaning. Wipe the casing with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
• Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use. Keep cables neatly coiled.
• Fuse Replacement: The charger is equipped with a replaceable fuse (20A). If the charger stops working, check the fuse located on the front panel. Replace only with a fuse of the same type and rating.
