The Craig CMA3542 is a portable music receiver featuring Bluetooth wireless technology, an FM radio, and stereo sound. It can be powered by the included AC adapter or 6 AA batteries (not included) for portability.

5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Unit

The CMA3542 can be powered in two ways:

  1. AC Power: Connect the supplied power adapter to the DC IN jack on the back of the unit and plug the other end into a standard AC wall outlet.
  2. Battery Power: For portable use, open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit. Insert 6 new AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment securely.

Note: When both AC power and batteries are connected, the unit will primarily use AC power. Batteries will serve as a backup.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Turning On/Off

Press the POWER button (location typically on the front or top panel) to turn the unit on or off.

6.2 Bluetooth Pairing

To stream audio wirelessly from a Bluetooth-enabled device:

  1. Turn on the CMA3542. The unit will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth indicator light (if present).
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet, or other audio device.
  3. Search for available Bluetooth devices. You should see "CMA3542" or a similar name appear in the list.
  4. Select "CMA3542" to pair. Once successfully paired, the Bluetooth indicator light will become solid, and you may hear a confirmation tone.
  5. You can now play music from your device, and it will stream through the CMA3542.

Note: The unit will automatically attempt to reconnect to the last paired device when powered on.

6.3 FM Radio Operation

To listen to FM radio:

  1. Press the MODE button (if available) to switch to FM radio mode.
  2. Use the TUNE +/- buttons (or similar controls) to manually tune to your desired FM station.
  3. For automatic scanning, press and hold the TUNE +/- button for a few seconds. The radio will scan and stop at the next strong station.
  4. Extend the telescopic antenna (if present) for better reception.

6.4 Volume Control

Adjust the volume using the VOLUME +/- buttons or knob on the unit. You can also control the volume from your connected Bluetooth device.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.

7.2 Storage

If the unit will not be used for an extended period, disconnect it from the power outlet and remove the batteries. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
