5. Setup
5.1 Powering the Unit
The CMA3542 can be powered in two ways:
- AC Power: Connect the supplied power adapter to the DC IN jack on the back of the unit and plug the other end into a standard AC wall outlet.
- Battery Power: For portable use, open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit. Insert 6 new AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment securely.
Note: When both AC power and batteries are connected, the unit will primarily use AC power. Batteries will serve as a backup.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Turning On/Off
Press the POWER button (location typically on the front or top panel) to turn the unit on or off.
6.2 Bluetooth Pairing
To stream audio wirelessly from a Bluetooth-enabled device:
- Turn on the CMA3542. The unit will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth indicator light (if present).
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet, or other audio device.
- Search for available Bluetooth devices. You should see "CMA3542" or a similar name appear in the list.
- Select "CMA3542" to pair. Once successfully paired, the Bluetooth indicator light will become solid, and you may hear a confirmation tone.
- You can now play music from your device, and it will stream through the CMA3542.
Note: The unit will automatically attempt to reconnect to the last paired device when powered on.
6.3 FM Radio Operation
To listen to FM radio:
- Press the MODE button (if available) to switch to FM radio mode.
- Use the TUNE +/- buttons (or similar controls) to manually tune to your desired FM station.
- For automatic scanning, press and hold the TUNE +/- button for a few seconds. The radio will scan and stop at the next strong station.
- Extend the telescopic antenna (if present) for better reception.
6.4 Volume Control
Adjust the volume using the VOLUME +/- buttons or knob on the unit. You can also control the volume from your connected Bluetooth device.

7.1 Cleaning
