1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Rice Lake TP-3200 Lab Balance. 2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the balance from its packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. Retain the packaging material for future transport or storage.

2.2 Placement

Place the balance on a stable, level surface free from vibrations, drafts, and direct sunlight. Ensure the surface is clean and dry. Avoid locations near air conditioning vents, open windows, or heavy machinery that could affect measurement accuracy. The compact footprint of the TP-3200 makes it suitable for crowded work environments.

2.3 Power Connection

Connect the provided AC adapter to the power input port on the rear of the balance. Plug the AC adapter into a suitable electrical outlet (110VAC). The balance is designed to stabilize quickly upon power-up, eliminating long warm-up times.

2.4 Initial Stabilization

After connecting power, allow the balance a few minutes to stabilize before initial use. This ensures optimal performance and accuracy.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

Press the On/Off button (typically red) to power the balance on or off. The large backlight LCD will illuminate upon power-up.

3.2 Basic Weighing

1. Ensure the weighing platter is empty and clean.
2. Press the Zero button to set the display to zero.
3. Carefully place the item to be weighed on the center of the 7" x 6.2" weighing platter.
4. Wait for the reading to stabilize. The stable reading will be displayed on the LCD.

3.3 Tare Function

To weigh an item in a container, use the Tare function:

1. Place the empty container on the weighing platter.
2. Press the Tare button. The display will return to zero.
3. Add the substance to be weighed into the container. The display will show the net weight of the substance.

3.4 Unit Conversion

The TP-3200 supports 12 different measurement units. Press the Unit or Mode button (refer to the button layout on your specific model) to cycle through available units: oz, lb, ozt, dwt, ct, mom, GN, TL, to, g, and others as configured.

3.5 Counting Function

To use the counting function:

1. Press the Sample or Count button.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to place a known quantity of items (e.g., 10, 20, 50 pieces) on the platter to establish the average piece weight.
3. Once the sample is set, remove the sample and then place the unknown quantity of items on the platter. The display will show the count of items.

3.6 Percentage Weighing

To perform percentage weighing:

1. Press the Percent button.
2. Place the reference weight (100%) on the platter.
3. Press the Zero or Enter button to set this as 100%.
4. Remove the reference weight. When subsequent items are placed on the platter, the display will show their weight as a percentage of the reference weight.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To ensure accurate readings and prolong the life of your balance, keep it clean. Use a soft, damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner to wipe down the exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure no liquids enter the internal components of the balance.

4.2 Platter Care

The 7" x 6.2" weighing platter can be removed for cleaning. Handle it carefully to avoid bending or damaging it. Ensure it is dry before placing it back on the balance.

4.3 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the balance in a dry, dust-free environment. If possible, use the original packaging for protection.
