4.1 Pre-Installation Checks

  1. Ensure the power supply to the installation area is turned off at the main circuit breaker.
  2. Gather necessary tools: drill, screwdriver, measuring tape, level, wire strippers.
  3. Confirm the mounting surface (wall, ceiling, or glass) is structurally sound and can support the fan's weight.

4.2 Mounting the Fan

  1. Marking: Using the dimensional drawing (Figure 2) as a guide, mark the desired location for the fan and the required opening size for the duct.
  2. Cutting Opening: Carefully cut the opening in the wall, ceiling, or glass pane according to the marked dimensions. For glass installation, professional glass cutting is recommended.
  3. Securing: Position the fan unit into the opening. Secure the fan to the mounting surface using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure the fan is level and firmly attached.

4.3 Electrical Connection

IMPORTANT: Electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician.

  1. Route the power cord from the fan to the electrical junction box.
  2. Connect the fan's power cord to the main electrical supply, ensuring correct polarity (Live, Neutral, Earth).
  3. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
  4. Once connections are complete, restore power at the main circuit breaker.

5. Operating Instructions

The VORTICE Punto fan is designed for simple operation, typically controlled by an external wall switch or a pull cord (if equipped).

  • Power On/Off: Use the external wall switch connected to the fan to turn the unit on or off.
  • Speed Control: This model features 3 power levels. If your installation includes a compatible multi-speed switch, you can select the desired ventilation speed. Otherwise, the fan will operate at a single speed when powered on.
  • Ventilation: The fan will begin to extract air from the room immediately upon activation.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your VORTICE Punto fan.

6.1 Cleaning the Fan

  1. Disconnect Power: Always turn off the power supply to the fan at the main circuit breaker before cleaning.
  2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the fan with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  3. Grille Cleaning: Carefully remove the front grille (if detachable) and wash it with mild soap and water. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching. If the grille is not detachable, use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris.
  4. Internal Cleaning: For deeper cleaning of the fan blades or motor housing, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician. Do not attempt to disassemble the fan beyond removing the grille unless you are qualified.
  5. Restore Power: Once cleaning is complete and all parts are dry and reassembled, restore power to the fan.
