3. Setup Instructions
3.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the thermometer is powered off.
- Carefully remove the CRS/5 protective boot if it is already installed.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the KM28 thermometer.
- Open the cover and insert one 9V IEC 6LF22 alkaline battery, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
3.2. Attaching the Probe
- Identify the sub-miniature connector on the PK19M probe cable.
- Locate the corresponding input port on the KM28 thermometer.
- Gently insert the probe connector into the thermometer's port until it is firmly seated.
3.3. Installing the Protective Boot
Slide the CRS/5 protective boot over the KM28 thermometer unit. Ensure all buttons and the display are accessible and the boot fits snugly to provide maximum protection.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Powering On/Off
- To power on the thermometer, press the On/Off button.
- To power off, press and hold the On/Off button until the display turns off. The device also features an auto switch-off function to conserve battery life.
4.2. Temperature Measurement
- Ensure the probe is securely connected to the thermometer.
- Power on the device.
- Insert the tip of the PK19M probe into the substance or area where temperature measurement is required. Ensure the probe tip is fully immersed or in firm contact for accurate readings.
- Wait for the reading on the display to stabilize.
4.3. Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press the °C/°F button while the thermometer is powered on.

5. Care and Maintenance
