3.1 Blade Installation and Removal
- Ensure the saw is disconnected from the power supply.
- Locate the locking lever (refer to Figure 2.1 for general location). Engage the locking lever to secure the saw blade.
- Using the provided service keys, loosen the blade retaining screw.
- Carefully remove the old blade.
- Install the new blade, ensuring the rotation direction matches the arrow on the saw.
- Tighten the blade retaining screw securely. Disengage the locking lever.
3.2 Connecting to a Vacuum Cleaner
For a cleaner work environment and improved visibility, connect an external vacuum cleaner to the saw's suction nozzle. Ensure the vacuum cleaner hose is securely attached to prevent accidental disconnection during operation.
3.3 Optional Accessories
For enhanced precision and versatility, consider using optional accessories such as guide rails (e.g., UCP174T 800 mm or 1400 mm), jointing sets, vacuum pads, or clamping screws. Refer to the accessory documentation for installation and usage instructions.
4. Operation
4.1 Power Connection
Connect the saw to a suitable power outlet (230 Volts AC). The soft start feature will ensure a smooth power-up.
4.2 Adjusting Cutting Depth
The cutting depth can be adjusted to suit the material thickness. The saw offers a maximum cutting depth of 55 mm at 90° and 35 mm at 45°. Refer to the saw's depth adjustment mechanism for precise settings.
4.3 Basic Cutting Procedure
- Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement during cutting.
- Set the desired cutting depth and angle.
- Position the saw on the workpiece, ensuring the blade is clear of the material before starting.
- Start the saw. Allow the blade to reach full speed before engaging with the material.
- Guide the saw smoothly and steadily through the material. Do not force the saw.
- Once the cut is complete, release the trigger and allow the blade to come to a complete stop using the quick stop feature before lifting the saw from the workpiece.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the saw, especially the blade guard, motor vents, and suction nozzle, to ensure optimal performance and prevent overheating. Use a dry cloth or compressed air. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
5.2 Blade Care
Inspect the saw blade before each use for sharpness, cracks, or damage. A dull or damaged blade can cause kickback and reduce cutting efficiency. Replace worn blades promptly following the procedure in Section 3.1.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Saw does not start | No power supply; Faulty power cord/plug; Overvoltage protection activated | Check power connection; Inspect cord/plug for damage; Disconnect and reconnect power to reset overvoltage protection. |
| Reduced cutting performance | Dull or incorrect blade; Accumulation of sawdust; Incorrect cutting depth | Replace blade or use appropriate blade for material; Clean saw and suction nozzle; Adjust cutting depth. |
| Excessive vibration | Damaged or improperly installed blade; Loose components | Inspect and correctly install blade; Check all fasteners for tightness. |
If you encounter issues not listed here or if solutions do not resolve the problem, contact Virutex customer support or a qualified service technician.
