Hunter MP3000360

Hunter MP3000360 MP Rotator Sprinkler Manual

Model: MP3000360

Introduction

The Hunter MP3000360 MP Rotator is an advanced sprinkler nozzle designed for efficient and uniform water distribution in irrigation systems. This rotator features a unique multi-trajectory rotating stream delivery system, which applies water at a slower, more consistent rate compared to traditional spray nozzles. This method allows water to gently soak into the soil, reducing runoff and promoting healthier plant growth.

This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your Hunter MP3000360 MP Rotator to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installing or operating the MP Rotator. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage or injury.

  • Always turn off the water supply before performing any installation, adjustment, or maintenance on the sprinkler system.
  • Do not operate the sprinkler system if any components are damaged.
  • Keep children and pets away from the irrigation area during operation.
  • Ensure all connections are secure to prevent leaks and water waste.

Setup and Installation

The MP Rotator can be installed onto any conventional spray head body or shrub adapter. Ensure the spray head body is clean and free of debris before installation.

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate the main water shut-off valve for your irrigation system and turn it off completely.
  2. Remove Existing Nozzle: Carefully unscrew and remove the old nozzle from the spray head body.
  3. Install MP Rotator: Screw the MP3000360 MP Rotator onto the spray head body by hand until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the nozzle or the spray head body.
  4. Check for Debris: Briefly flush the system to remove any debris before fully seating the rotator, then re-install.
  5. Turn on Water Supply: Slowly turn the main water supply back on and check for leaks.

Operation and Adjustment

The MP3000360 model provides a 360-degree spray pattern with a radius range of 22 to 30 feet. Adjustments can be made to optimize coverage.

Radius Adjustment

The radius can be reduced by up to 25% without changing the nozzle. To adjust the radius, hold the top of the nozzle and turn the large outer collar clockwise to decrease the radius, or counter-clockwise to increase it. A specialized MP tool (not included) can be used for easier adjustment, but it can also be done by hand.

Arc Adjustment (Not applicable for 360-degree model)

Note: The MP3000360 is a fixed 360-degree pattern rotator and does not require arc adjustment. For other MP Rotator models with adjustable arcs, refer to their specific instructions.

Ensure that the sprinkler is operating at the recommended pressure for optimal performance. Operating pressure typically ranges from 25 to 55 PSI (1.7 to 3.8 bar).

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your MP Rotator.

  • Cleaning: Periodically inspect the nozzle for debris such as dirt, grass clippings, or mineral deposits. If clogged, gently remove the nozzle and rinse it under running water. Do not use sharp objects to clear the nozzle openings, as this can damage the internal components.
  • Filter Screen: The MP Rotator typically includes a filter screen at its base. Check this screen for blockages and clean it as needed. A clogged filter screen can significantly reduce performance.
  • Winterization: In regions subject to freezing temperatures, ensure your irrigation system, including MP Rotators, is properly winterized to prevent freeze damage. Consult your irrigation system's main manual for winterization procedures.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
