Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Install the Latch: Insert the latch mechanism into the edge bore hole of the door. Ensure the bevel of the latch bolt faces the door frame. Secure with the provided screws. Adjust the latch to the correct backset (2-3/8" or 2-3/4") if necessary, by rotating the latch housing.
  2. Install the Exterior Knob: Insert the exterior knob assembly through the door, ensuring the spindle passes through the latch mechanism.
  3. Install the Interior Knob: Place the interior knob over the spindle, aligning the mounting posts with the holes on the exterior knob assembly.
  4. Secure the Knobs: Insert the long mounting screws through the interior knob's mounting posts and tighten them into the exterior knob assembly. Do not overtighten.
  5. Install the Strike Plate: Align the strike plate with the latch bolt on the door frame. Mark and chisel out the area if needed, then secure the strike plate with the provided screws.
  6. Test Operation: Close the door and test the knob's operation to ensure the latch retracts smoothly and the door closes properly.

Operation

The Brinks 2114-105 Tulip Style Door Knob is a passage function knob. It does not include a locking mechanism. To open the door, simply turn either the interior or exterior knob to retract the latch bolt. The knob will return to its original position when released.
