  • Display Unit: If using backup batteries, replace them annually or when the low battery indicator appears.

Cleaning the 5-in-1 Sensor

Periodically clean the sensor to ensure accurate readings.

  • Rain Collector: Remove debris (leaves, insects) from the rain collector funnel.
  • Wind Cups & Vane: Ensure they spin freely. Remove any obstructions.
  • Exterior: Wipe the sensor's exterior with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Solution
No outdoor data on display
  • Ensure batteries are fresh and correctly installed in the outdoor sensor.
  • Verify the display unit is within range (330 feet) of the sensor.
  • Relocate the display unit or sensor to reduce interference from electronics or large metal surfaces.
  • Perform a hard reset: Remove batteries from both units, unplug display, wait 1 minute, then reinsert batteries/power up display first, then sensor.
Inaccurate temperature/humidity
  • Ensure the outdoor sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources (e.g., exhaust vents).
  • Clean the sensor's ventilation openings.
  • Allow 20 minutes for readings to stabilize after setup or relocation.
Inaccurate wind readings
  • Check that wind cups and wind vane spin freely and are not obstructed.
  • Ensure the sensor is mounted at an appropriate height and location, away from obstructions.
Inaccurate rainfall readings
  • Verify the sensor is mounted perfectly level.
  • Clear any debris from the rain collector funnel.
PC Connect not working
  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the display unit and the computer.
  • Verify the AcuRite PC Connect software is installed and running.
  • Check for software updates on the AcuRite website.
