Package Contents
The CIOKS DC10 comes with a comprehensive set of accessories to get you started:
- 16 Flex cables (various types and lengths)
- 1 Split Flex cable
- 2 Stack Flex cables (for 18V and 24V pedals)
- Mounting kit for pedal boards
- IEC mains power cable
Setup
1. Mains Power Connection
Connect the provided IEC mains power cable to the DC10 unit and then to a suitable wall outlet. The DC10 features a 115V/230V mains voltage selector switch, ensuring compatibility with various power grids worldwide. Ensure the switch is set to the correct voltage for your region before connecting to power.
2. Pedal Connection
Connect your effect pedals to the DC outlets using the appropriate Flex cables. The DC10 offers a variety of voltage and current options across its isolated sections:
- Outlets 1-4: 9V DC / 100mA each (ideal for standard 9V battery operated pedals).
- Outlets 5-6: 9V or 12V DC / 200mA each (can be merged into a 400mA section).
- Outlets 7-8: 9V and 12V DC / 400mA.
- Outlets 9-10: 9V, 12V, or 15V DC / 400mA.
Use the included Stack Flex cables to combine outputs for 18V or 24V DC power if required by your pedals. Refer to your pedal's manual for specific power requirements.
3. Mounting to a Pedal Board
Utilize the included mounting kit to securely attach the DC10 to your pedal board. The compact design allows for flexible placement, often underneath the board to save space.
Operating the DC10
Voltage Selection
For outlets offering multiple voltage options (e.g., 9V/12V/15V), ensure the correct voltage is selected using the corresponding switch or internal jumper settings as per your pedal's requirements. Incorrect voltage can damage your pedals.
Current Output
The DC10 provides ample current for demanding pedals. Pay attention to the current draw of your pedals and connect them to outlets that meet or exceed their requirements. Outlets 5-6 can be merged for higher current needs.
LED Monitoring
Each isolated section is equipped with an advanced LED monitoring system. These LEDs indicate the operational status of each output. If an LED turns off, it typically signifies a short circuit or overload on that specific output.
Maintenance
The DC10 features a durable steel enclosure with a 2mm thick top, designed for longevity. To ensure optimal performance and lifespan:
- Keep the unit clean and free from dust and debris.
- Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures or moisture.
- Regularly check all cable connections for secure fit and signs of wear.
- Organize cables to prevent tangling and accidental disconnections.
Troubleshooting
Short Circuit Protection
The DC10 is equipped with short circuit protection on all outlets. If an output experiences an overload or short circuit, its respective LED indicator will turn off, and power to that specific output will be interrupted. This protects both the power supply and the connected pedal. The other pedals connected to different isolated sections will remain unaffected.
To resolve a short circuit: Disconnect the pedal from the affected output, check the pedal and cable for faults, and then reconnect. The LED should illuminate again, indicating normal operation.
Noise Reduction
The toroidal transformer with additional magnetic field shielding is designed to minimize hums and noise. If you experience unwanted noise, ensure all connections are secure and that your pedals are connected to the correct isolated outputs to prevent ground loops.
