Setup

Connecting the Scanner

  2. Locate the USB port on your computer.
  3. Connect the smaller end of the SR31-CAB-U001 USB Cable to the port on the base of the SR31T scanner.
  4. Connect the larger USB-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  5. The computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers for the scanner. This process may take a few moments.
  6. Once installed, the scanner will emit a short beep or flash an indicator light, signifying it is ready for use.

Operating the Scanner

Basic Scanning Procedure

  1. Open an application on your computer where you want the scanned data to appear (e.g., a text editor, spreadsheet, or point-of-sale software).
  2. Ensure the cursor is active in the field where you intend to input data.
  3. Point the scanner's imager window at the barcode you wish to scan.
  4. Press and hold the trigger button located on the handle of the scanner. A red aiming beam or illumination will appear.
  5. Position the scanner so that the aiming beam covers the entire barcode. For 2D barcodes, ensure the entire code is within the aiming pattern.
  6. Once the barcode is successfully read, the scanner will emit a confirmation beep and/or the indicator light will flash. The data will then appear in your active application.
  7. Release the trigger button.

2D Imager Capabilities

The SR31T is equipped with a 2D EA31 Imager, allowing it to read a wide range of 1D and 2D barcodes, including QR codes, Data Matrix, and PDF417. This advanced imager provides flexibility for diverse scanning applications.
