1. Setup
Before operating your DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Grease Gun, ensure proper setup of the battery, grease cartridge, and hose.
1.1 Battery Installation and Charging
Insert the 20V MAX XR Lithium-Ion battery (4.0Ah) into the tool until it clicks securely into place. Use the provided fast charger (DCB115) to charge the battery. Refer to the charger's manual for specific charging instructions.

1.2 Loading a Grease Cartridge
- Unscrew the barrel from the main body of the grease gun.
- Pull the plunger rod all the way back and lock it into place.
- Remove the caps from both ends of a standard 14 oz grease cartridge.
- Insert the open end of the grease cartridge into the barrel.
- Screw the barrel back onto the grease gun body.
- Release the plunger rod.

1.3 Priming the Pump
After loading a new cartridge, it is essential to prime the pump to remove any trapped air. Locate the air-bleeder valve on the grease gun. Loosen the valve slightly while holding the trigger until grease begins to flow. Tighten the valve once grease flows consistently.
1.4 Attaching the Flexible Hose
Connect the 42-inch flexible hose to the grease gun's output port by screwing it on securely. Ensure a tight connection to prevent leaks.

2. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for effective and safe operation of your cordless grease gun.
2.1 Applying Grease
- Ensure the grease gun is properly loaded and primed.
- Attach the coupler at the end of the flexible hose firmly onto the zerk fitting of the component to be lubricated. Ensure a secure connection to prevent grease leakage.
- Press the variable speed trigger to dispense grease. The motor delivers up to 10,000 max PSI and a high-volume pump pushes up to 5.0 oz/min for efficient application.
- Continue dispensing until fresh grease appears at the fitting or as recommended by the component manufacturer.
- Release the trigger and detach the coupler from the zerk fitting.

2.2 Using the LED Light
The integrated bright LED light assists in locating hard-to-see grease fittings in low-light situations. The light activates when the trigger is pressed.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning and Storage
Wipe down the grease gun after each use to remove excess grease and debris. Store the tool in its kit box in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures.

3.2 Pump Filter Screen
The pump filter screen prevents dirt and contamination from clogging the pump mechanism. Periodically inspect and clean the filter screen to maintain proper function.

- Low Battery: Charge or replace the battery.
4.2 Grease Leakage
- Loose Connections: Check all connections (barrel, hose, coupler) and tighten them securely.
- Damaged Coupler: Replace the coupler if it is worn or damaged.
