2. Safety Information
WARNING: To avoid possible electric shock or personal injury, and to avoid possible damage to the meter or to the equipment under test, follow these safety rules:
- Always ensure the test leads are in good condition and properly connected to the correct input jacks for the measurement being performed.
- Do not apply more than the rated voltage, as marked on the meter, between terminals or between any terminal and earth ground. The maximum voltage for this meter is 1000V DC or 750V AC.
- Use extreme caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC. Such voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Before measuring current, ensure the circuit is de-energized and the meter is connected in series with the load.
- Before changing the function dial, disconnect the test leads from the circuit under test.
- Do not use the meter if it is damaged or if the case is open. Inspect the meter before use.
- Replace the battery immediately when the low battery indicator appears to ensure accurate readings.
- Do not operate the meter in explosive gas, vapor, or dust environments.
- Always use the appropriate input terminals, function, and range for your measurements.

- Place the battery into the compartment and replace the cover, securing it with the screw(s).
4.2. Connecting Test Leads
Always connect the black test lead to the "COM" (common) jack. Connect the red test lead to the appropriate input jack based on the measurement you intend to perform:
- For Voltage (V), Resistance (Ω), Capacitance (CAP), Frequency (Hz), Diode, and Temperature (TEMP) measurements: Connect the red lead to the VΩCAPHzTEMP jack.
- For Current (A) measurements up to 200mA: Connect the red lead to the mA jack.
- For Current (A) measurements up to 10A: Connect the red lead to the 10A jack.
CAUTION: Incorrect connection of test leads can damage the meter or the circuit under test.
5. Operating Instructions
Before taking any measurement, ensure the test leads are correctly connected and the function dial is set to the desired measurement type.
5.1. Powering On/Off
Press the POWER button to turn the multimeter on. Press it again to turn it off. The meter features an auto-power-off function to conserve battery life, typically after 15 minutes of inactivity.
5.2. Measuring DC Voltage (V=)
- Connect the black lead to the COM jack and the red lead to the VΩCAPHzTEMP jack.
- Set the function dial to the V= position.
- Connect the test leads in parallel across the DC voltage source or component to be measured.
- Read the voltage value on the LCD display. The meter will automatically select the appropriate range.
5.3. Measuring AC Voltage (V~)
- Connect the black lead to the COM jack and the red lead to the VΩCAPHzTEMP jack.
- Set the function dial to the V~ position.
- Connect the test leads in parallel across the AC voltage source or component to be measured.
- Read the voltage value on the LCD display.
5.4. Measuring DC Current (A=)
- IMPORTANT: Disconnect power to the circuit before connecting the meter.
- Connect the black lead to the COM jack. Connect the red lead to the mA jack for currents up to 200mA, or to the 10A jack for currents up to 10A.
- Set the function dial to the appropriate A= range (e.g., 200mA, 10A).
- Break the circuit and connect the multimeter in series with the load.
- Apply power to the circuit and read the current value on the LCD display.
- After measurement, disconnect power, then disconnect the multimeter and restore the circuit.
5.5. Measuring Resistance (Ω)
- Ensure the circuit or component is de-energized before measuring resistance.
- Connect the black lead to the COM jack and the red lead to the VΩCAPHzTEMP jack.
- Set the function dial to the Ω position.
- Connect the test leads across the component to be measured.
- Read the resistance value on the LCD display.
5.6. Diode Test
- Connect the black lead to the COM jack and the red lead to the VΩCAPHzTEMP jack.
- Set the function dial to the ▲ (Diode) position.
- Connect the red lead to the anode and the black lead to the cathode of the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop (typically 0.5V to 0.8V for silicon diodes).
- Reverse the leads. The display should show "OL" (Open Loop) for a good diode.
5.7. Continuity Test
- Connect the black lead to the COM jack and the red lead to the VΩCAPHzTEMP jack.

- Ensure the multimeter is turned off and test leads are disconnected.
- Open the battery compartment cover as described in Section 4.1.
- Carefully remove the old fuse.
- Replace it with a fuse of the same type and rating (e.g., F200mA/250V for mA range, F10A/250V for 10A range). Refer to the specifications for exact fuse ratings.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it.
WARNING: Never use a fuse with a different rating or bypass the fuse. This can lead to serious injury or damage to the meter.
6.4. Storage
If the meter is not to be used for a long period, remove the battery to prevent leakage and damage to the meter. Store the meter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
