1. Setup Guide

This section provides instructions for the initial setup of your Roku 1 Streaming Media Player. Ensure all components are present before beginning.

What's in the Box

Connecting Your Roku 1 Player

  1. Connect to Power: Plug the power adapter into the Roku 1 player and then into a wall outlet.
  2. Connect to TV:
    • For HDMI-enabled TVs: Connect an HDMI cable (not included) from the HDMI port on the Roku 1 player to an available HDMI input on your TV. Note the HDMI input number (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2).
    • For older TVs (Composite A/V): Connect the included composite A/V cable to the corresponding color-coded ports on the Roku 1 player (yellow for video, red for right audio, white for left audio) and to the matching input ports on your TV.
  3. Insert Batteries into Remote: Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote and insert the two AAA batteries, matching the polarity indicators.
  4. Turn on TV and Select Input: Power on your TV and select the correct input source (HDMI or A/V) that corresponds to where you connected your Roku 1 player.
  5. On-Screen Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Roku 1 player to your wireless network and activate your Roku account. An internet connection is required for streaming.
