2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the product contents are present and undamaged. If any items are missing or damaged, contact customer support.

2.2 Powering the Device

The Audiovox DS9321 can be powered using the included AC adapter for home use or the DC car adapter for in-vehicle use.

  • AC Adapter: Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN port on the DVD player and plug the other end into a standard wall outlet.
  • DC Car Adapter: Connect the DC car adapter to the DC IN port on the DVD player and plug the other end into your vehicle's 12V accessory socket (cigarette lighter).

2.3 Charging the Battery

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the internal battery. Connect the AC adapter to the DVD player and a wall outlet. The charging indicator light will illuminate. Once fully charged, the light may change color or turn off, depending on the model. A full charge provides approximately 2 hours of playback.

2.4 Mounting (Optional)

If using the player in a vehicle, the innovative headrest brackets (sold separately or included in some accessory kits) offer adjustable viewing angles. The quick connect/disconnect design allows for easy removal of the player.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the POWER button located on the unit to turn the player on or off.

3.2 Inserting and Playing Discs

  1. Open the disc compartment cover.
  2. Carefully place a DVD, CD, MP3, or JPEG disc onto the spindle with the label side facing up.
  3. Close the disc compartment cover securely.
  4. The player will automatically detect the disc and begin playback. Use the control buttons (Play, Pause, Stop, Skip, Fast Forward/Rewind) to manage playback.

3.3 Using USB and SD Card Slots

The player includes a USB port and an SD card slot for playing media files stored on compatible devices.

  1. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port or an SD card into the SD card slot.
  2. The player should automatically switch to the USB or SD card input mode. If not, use the SOURCE or MODE button to select the correct input.
  3. Navigate through your files using the control buttons and press PLAY to start playback.

3.4 Adjusting the Screen

The 9-inch TFT display features a 270-degree swivel function. You can rotate the screen to various angles for optimal viewing. The screen can also be twisted backwards 180 degrees and folded flat against the base for a tablet-style viewing experience.

3.5 Audio Output

  • Built-in Speakers: The player has integrated stereo speakers for direct audio output. Adjust volume using the VOLUME controls.
  • Headphone Jack: For private listening, plug standard 3.5mm headphones into the headphone jack. This will mute the built-in speakers.
  • Audio/Video Output: Use the included AV cable to connect the player's A/V output jack to an external display or audio system.

3.6 Audio/Video Input

The player also features an A/V input jack, allowing you to connect external devices (e.g., a game console or another media player) and display their content on the DS9321 screen.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Wipe the exterior of the player with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • To clean the screen, use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for electronics screens. Avoid applying excessive pressure.

4.2 Disc Care

  • Always handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches on the playing surface.
  • Store discs in their cases when not in use.
  • Clean dirty discs with a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping gently from the center outwards.

4.3 Battery Care

  • To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • If the player will not be used for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% before storing it.
  • Store the player in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
