Introduction
The NuWave PIC Pro Induction Cooktop utilizes magnetic coils to generate magnetic fields, which in turn produce heat directly within compatible steel and iron-based cookware. This method is energy-efficient compared to traditional gas or electric ranges, as heat is generated in the cookware itself rather than on the cooktop surface. Induction cooking is an environmentally conscious method, releasing no toxins and producing less residual heat in the kitchen. The cooktop surface remains cool to the touch where the magnetic field is not activated.

Safety Information
- Surface Temperature: The cooktop surface can remain hot even after cooking. Avoid touching the cooking surface immediately after use.
- Automatic Pan Detection: The unit features an auto-pan detection system. If no compatible cookware is detected on the surface for 60 seconds, the unit will automatically shut off.
- Error Messages: The cooktop is equipped with a diagnostic error message system. An "E1" error indicates that no pot is detected. Place a compatible pot on the cooktop and press "Start" to resume cooking. Low and high voltage warning systems are also integrated.
- Liquid Spills: As this is an electrical appliance, avoid spilling liquids, especially boiling water, onto the cooktop or control panel to prevent damage. Do not overfill pots to prevent boil-overs.
- Heat Protection: When placing the cooktop on heat-sensitive surfaces like wood, it is recommended to use a heat-resistant silicone mat underneath to protect the surface from heat transfer.
Setup
Power Connection
The NuWave PIC Pro operates on standard household electricity: 120 volts, 15 amps. It can be plugged into any standard electrical outlet. For optimal safety and performance, especially given its 1800W power, using a surge protector is recommended but not strictly necessary.
Cookware Compatibility
The NuWave PIC Pro requires induction-compatible cookware. This includes stainless steel with a magnetic bottom, cast iron, or other induction-ready cookware. Non-compatible pots will not heat up and will trigger an "E1" error message.
To test if your existing cookware is compatible, place a magnet on the bottom of the pot or pan. If the magnet sticks firmly, the cookware is suitable for induction cooking.

Operating Instructions
Digital Control Panel
The cooktop features a digital control panel for easy operation. Simply turn it on and adjust the desired settings.
Temperature Control
- Temperature Range: The cooktop offers a precise temperature control range from 100°F to 575°F, adjustable in 5-degree increments, providing 94 different temperature settings.
- Pre-programmed Settings: Six pre-programmed temperature settings are available for common cooking tasks.
- Fahrenheit/Celsius: The display can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
- Precise Temperature Control: This feature eliminates guesswork, allowing for consistent cooking results within 5-10 degrees of the set temperature.

Figure 3: The cooktop's precise temperature control ensures consistent cooking, as demonstrated by the even cooking of meat.
Wattage Control
The cooktop allows for wattage adjustment, offering flexibility for various power situations. This is particularly useful in older homes with lower power circuits or when using the cooktop with a generator (e.g., camping, RVs, boats, dorms). Available wattage settings include 600W, 900W, and 1500W.
Digital Timer
A built-in countdown digital timer can be set in 1-minute increments, up to a maximum programmable time of 100 hours. The default setting is 1 hour.
Temperature Probe (if applicable)
Some models may include a temperature probe to monitor the internal temperature of food. Plug the probe into the designated port on the side of the cooktop. Use the probe holder to secure it to the cookware, ensuring the probe tip is immersed in the food or liquid without touching the bottom of the pan.

Maintenance & Cleaning
The cooktop surface is easy to clean. Since the surface remains cool where not actively heating, spills are less likely to burn on. After use, allow the cooktop to cool completely. Wipe the surface with a damp paper towel or soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the glass surface.
Troubleshooting
- "E1" Error: This error code indicates that no compatible cookware is detected on the cooktop. Place a suitable pot or pan on the cooking surface and press the "Start" button to resume operation.
- No Heat: Ensure that the cookware being used is induction-compatible (magnetic bottom). If the cookware is not compatible, the cooktop will not generate heat and may display an error.
- Loud Fan Noise: The cooktop includes a built-in fan for cooling internal components. This fan operates to prevent overheating, especially during high-temperature cooking, and is a normal part of the unit's function.
